CBS’s Lingo with host RuPaul Charles has finally gotten a premiere date.
The game show has teams competing against each other for a grand prize.
People who like solving word games come together to solve letter puzzles before time runs out.
On Friday, it was revealed when the highly anticipated show would return to screens.
Lingo Season 2 will premiere with new back-to-back episodes on Friday, May 24th from 8pm-10pm EST on CBS.
After its premiere, it will air on Friday nights at 8pm EST.
However, with a new season comes an even crazier twist.
The winners of each episode will return in the next episode for an even bigger cash prize.
MORE ABOUT LINGO
This isn’t the first time Lingo has appeared on TV.
It first premiered in 1987 and was later revived in 2002 and again in 2011.
On February 11, CBS revealed that Lingo would return with RuPaul’s Drag Race star RuPaul as host.
A year later, the show debuted in January, with the series being renewed just six weeks after the first episode aired.
However, the show originally aired on Wednesday nights between Survivor and True Lies, but was completely removed from the schedule with reruns of other shows.
TV line reported that the four unaired episodes from the first season will now air during the second season.
The last time people saw Lingo on their TVs was when the holiday special aired in late December.
To promote the game show last year, RuPaul was a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where he talks about what kind of host he will be.
“There’s no evil here. You know what’s funny? I can’t take any more evil. After the last five years, if there’s a movie or something on television where they’re starting to be evil, I have to look away. I can only do kind, gentle, sweet things,” he exclaimed.
RuPaul also hosts the Celebrity British version of the game show.
WHAT THE FANS THINK
As fans watched the show during the first season, they shared their honest opinions on X, formerly Twitter.
One said: “I love Lingo! Haven’t missed a single episode. Great game show and amazing host!”
Another said: “Ugh I love Lingo with RuPaul!!”
“RuPaul hosting Language makes me happy, and is Language still active? I loved this growth lmao,” said a third viewer.
