RYAN Seacrest has teased that a replacement American Idol host could be named at any time.
The American Idol host also spoke about Katy Perry’s imminent departure.
Katy announced earlier this year that this season would be her last.
Since that moment, fans have been speculating about who could fill her top heel.
In a new interview with Fox News, Ryan confessed… he has no idea either. But viewers might want to stay tuned.
“There are some people at the top of that short list who could be great,” Ryan, 49, said. “We should make that decision soon, I hope.”
As for Katy, the 49-year-old future Wheel of Fortune host said she will be missed.
“(Katy) brought incredible generosity and love and a big heart, that kind of spirit to the show,” he continued. “For whoever comes along, we hope it has the same kind of impact.”
SAYING GOODBYE
Katy was a judge for seven seasons before deciding to leave the ABC show.
She revealed her decision about Jimmy Kimmel livesaying, “So I think this will probably be my last season on Idol.”
The Fireworks singer previously said she wanted to spend more time with her daughter, Daisy Dove, 3, and her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, 47, and focus on her music career.
Katy also recently raised rumors that she is expecting her second child, although she hasn’t addressed the conversation.
“I love Idol so much. It connected me to the heart of America, but I need to feel the pulse of my own beat,” she continued.
“I want to go and see the world and maybe bring new music.”
RYAN’S HOPE
Ryan may not know who is intervening, but he has a suggestion.
The radio host said he would like to see Meghan Trainor replace Katy, especially after she appeared as a guest mentor in a recent episode.

Following her appearance, Ryan and her co-star Luke Bryan, 47, suggested that Meghan would be a “fun” replacement for fellow judge Katy following her exit.
“I think Meghan has always been a lot of fun,” said Luke Entertainment tonight.
“You know, that’s been her brand, to have fun. [She’s] very witty then certainly.
Ryan agreed, adding: “She was really good. Meghan is also a super talent and has a great sense of humor. She’s fun and spontaneous.”
After Meghan shared photos and videos her on set, fans rushed to the comments to encourage the pop star to join the show.
“I can see Meghan being Katy’s replacement next season!” one fan wrote.
“This is a great fan theory! We couldn’t agree more!” another responded.
