Price is Right fans were furious after the show was abruptly taken off air to viewers in several locations.
The daily game show, hosted by Drew Carey, was halted on Thursday due to breaking news.
In certain areas, The Price is Right was preempted mid-episode for CBS’s coverage of President Biden’s speech on the recent protests on college campuses.
While fans of the game show understood the need for the news, they shared on social media that they wished it could have aired after the show ended.
One upset viewer called it “a programming disaster” in his tweet on X (formerly Twitter).
“BOOOO PUT THE PRICE BACK,” demanded a second fan.

“Oh no, they discontinued it, the price is right,” said a third online user.
“People want to watch Plinko,” insisted another fan, referring to one of the most popular price games on the long-running show.
PARTIAL DISTURBANCE
Some fans revealed that their broadcasts of The Price is Right, hosted by Drew Carey, were not interrupted because their CBS stations put special reports online.
“That’s smart,” replied a fellow fan, before adding that he “wish everywhere were like this.”
Not the entire hour-long show was interrupted, with one fan sharing that some price games were interrupted, but the show returned in time for the Showcase Showdown.
During this game, each of the three players in that round spins a Ferris wheel up to two times.
The prop has landing spots with different values up to US$1, and competitors try to accumulate the highest value that does not exceed one dollar.
The winner then moves on to the end of the episode, while the rest are eliminated.
STRANGE ACCIDENT
Recently, fans had a field day while watching a round of this game when host Drew accidentally slapped one of the players.
Earlier this month, a woman named Hilary was the first to spin the wheel that day.
Wearing a bright pink sweater and red glasses, she excitedly turned the steering wheel a few times.
Unfortunately, her two rounds netted her more than $1, which meant she was eliminated.
The accident occurred while Drew was saying goodbye to Hilary and welcoming the next player at the same time.

Drew quickly raised his open hand to tell the second contestant, Chandler, to get behind the wheel, but Hilary was still in the same spot near the rack.
The movement of the presenter’s hand caused him to accidentally hit Hilary in the face, causing her glasses to fall off her face.
She quickly grabbed them so they wouldn’t fall to the ground as everyone laughed awkwardly at the incident.
Drew immediately apologized and mocked himself for causing the accident by “flailing” with his arms.
“Drew slaps his competitor in the face!” teased a shocked fan on an online forum.
“That was hilarious haha,” a second fan simply wrote.
