Mattea shared a post on X, formerly Twitter, before the episode aired to express his concerns about facing off against his fellow contestants.

The star shared a photo of a hydrogen bomb and a separate photo of a crying baby.

“Playing against @James_Holzhauer and @GraceWithAnO on tonight’s Jeopardy Masters… unrelated image,” he captioned the post with an angel face emoji.

Mattea suggested that her two contestants were bullying the contestants and fans flooded the comments with sympathy.

“Brutal having to face one of the most intimidating players of all time (and also James),” wrote one follower.

“That damn buzzer! I see you trying most of them but that buzzer!” added another.

“Mattea, I’m so sorry about what’s going to happen tonight, but I’m praying for you,” said a third.

“I love you… but good luck”, wished a fourth.

The exciting game saw the contestants fighting for several rounds, but Victoria managed to win.

After a record-breaking win in the last episode, James tied with Yogesh Raut for second place, while Victoria was still unbeaten, leading overall.

Jeopardy!’s Ken Jennings makes ‘disrespectful’ comments at Mattea Roach on Masters Night 3 as Victoria Groce rises

Host Ken Jennings faced backlash online after allegedly giving contestants a bad greeting at the start of the show.

Before the show, fans flooded social media with speculation about whether James would be able to retain his crown against newcomer Victoria.

Ken mentioned this when he introduced the players.

“Coming soon, it’s the first match between two heavy hitters, James Holzhauer and Victoria Groce, with Mattea Roach in the mix too,” he told viewers.

DISRESPECTFUL?

Viewers found the comment rude to Mattea, as he didn’t get as much input compared to others.

“A bit disrespectful not to call Mattea a ‘heavy hitter’; they didn’t win 23 games in their initial run of Jeopardy!

“Stay strong Mattea,” wrote another.

The Masters has been running since May 1st and is scheduled to conclude with a grand final on May 22nd.

The Masters grand prize is $500,000, a flashy Alex Trebek trophy to honor the late iconic host and the title of Masters Champion.

James seems like the competitor to beat, but Yogesh and Victoria have won their fair share of games.

Yogesh and James have also been showing a great rivalry.

The special’s “villains” grew up in the same area of Michigan and did trivia together and Yogesh also once bragged about being “better” than James at high school trivia during his initial season.
