DANGER! super champion Matt Amodio took a playful dig at Yogesh Raut on social media after losing to him in the Masters.

Yogesh scored a runaway victory against Matt on Wednesday’s episode, but decided not to try out for Final Jeopardy.

Matt took to X, formerly Twitter, after the game between him, Raut and Amy Schneider.

The 38-day champion congratulated the controversial three-day champion and 2024 ToC winner for pulling off a full escape against him.

He wrote: “Sometimes you lose a #Jeopardy game and think ‘that was bad luck, I deserved to win this one.’ Other times you lose a #Jeopardy game to Yogesh. Well played, very impressive!”

Matt made sure to add at the end, “(…except FJ)” with a wink emoji.

‘NEXT TIME, MATT!’

Fans appreciated the sweet – if a little dark – sentiment and were hoping for a Masters win for Matt soon.

“Yogesh is amazing; you all are! Best show on TV. Thank you everyone!” one fan wrote.

“You have such a good heart. Next time for you,” wrote another.

“You played great tonight, you’re going to get a win!!” wrote a third.

“It’s sad I lost that game. No matter what happens, you will always be my favorite. Blessings for your path forward,” a fourth wrote.

BLANK SPACE

In his Masters Night 3 match, Yogesh won by hitting a late Daily Double and betting all of his 15,000.

He had 36,400 going into Final Jeopardy, while Amy had 12,200 and Matt had 7,200.

Matt and Amy correctly answered the runway as “Pirates of Penzance”, but surprisingly, Yogesh left his podium completely blank.

This confused some fans as they didn’t know if he was being strategic or didn’t feel the need to respond – which felt like an insult.

“Is Yogesh not intentionally responding to FJ on breakouts, perhaps to gain a strategic advantage in future games?” one Redditor wondered.

“An interesting theory, but if I were a sandbag, I would respond with a highly plausible but still incorrect answer. Makes it look like I was trying,” wrote another.

In Game 2 of the night, Victoria Groce finally faced and defeated James Holzahuer, her co-star in The Chase, with Mattea Roach against the buzzsaws.

Now, Victoria has 9 points, Yogesh 7, James 5, Matt, Amy and Mattea have 1.

‘ISN’T IT AS FUN AS SEASON 1?’

Danger! Masters Season 2 is in full swing, now airing every Monday, Wednesday and Friday throughout the month of May.

Ken Jennings hosts the six-champion show that determines the best Jeopardy! competitor in any year.

The competitors are defending champion James Holzhauer, Matt, Mattea, Amy and newcomers Victoria and Yogesh.

The prize is $500,000, an Alex Trebek Trophy and ultimate bragging rights.

Yogesh and Victoria had winning streaks of just three and one days, respectively, and honed their trivia skills outside of Jeopardy!.

So far, only Victoria (winner of the recent Invitational), Yogesh (winner of the 2024 Tournament of Champions) and James have won games.

Fans took to Facebook on Thursday, complaining about the Masters Season 1’s lack of charm and novelty.

It’s pretty clear that they will already be the finalists and that emerging star Victoria will likely win.

Additionally, there has been a lot less humor among the players this year – especially from James, who lost twice and didn’t make any jokes. Final Jeopardy responds as expected.

One Facebook user started a thread: “So I absolutely love Jeopardy! Masters, but does anyone agree that last year’s tournament was much more fun?

“Last year’s contestants had incredible chemistry, possibly due to Andrew and Sam!”

“Again, I don’t want to downplay this year’s tournament, and I really like each of this year’s competitors. It’s just not as fun as last year’s tournament, that’s all :).”

Other fans agreed that although Masters 2.0 is more competitive, Sam Buttrey and Andrew He created a more entertaining lineup.

Another wrote: “I think there was a different feeling of camaraderie at last year’s competition. I’m really liking Victoria.

A third agreed: “All highly competitive individuals, the tournament lacks the warmth of personality that Sam brought to the show. Oh, 100%. I love Victoria Groce, but it’s a shame we’re stuck with Yogesh instead of Andrew and Sam at this year’s Masters.”

A fourth wrote: “Andrew He and Sam Buttrey are fantastic stand-up guys. Down to earth, humble, kind, charismatic and respectful of the game. All the charming character traits that Yogesh Raut sadly lacks.”

Others have pointed out that the top three is essentially a bygone conclusion, despite there still being plenty of quarterfinal games.

“One thing tonight was confirmed for sure: Victoria, James and Yogesh are leagues above the other 3, and if anyone other than one of them makes it into the Top 3, it would be a huge surprise.”

Danger! The Masters continues on Wednesday, May 8th with Games 5 and 6 on ABC at 8pm ET.
