Danger! contestants have scored big winners over the years, but some of their fashion choices have viewers doing a double take on the daily.
From an athletic outfit that offended viewers to the late host Alex Trebek performing without pants, although it may not be the Met Gala, there was no shortage of interesting outfits featured on Jeopardy!
Here are some of the most shocking outfits to grace the game show stage.
NO TREBEK PANTS
During the 2005 Ultimate Tournament of Champions, Alex took the stage without pants.
While filming the nerve-wracking tournament, one of the game show’s first big events, Ken Jennings, 49, faced off against Brad Rutter and Jerome Vered, who joked about playing against each other with no pants on — noting that Jeopardy! private joke way.
Little did they know their microphones were on, according to The New York Post.
Suddenly, Alex came on stage in his pantless suit, telling them, “I was told backstage a few minutes ago that our three contestants, Ken, Brad and Jerome, wanted to ease some of the tension and said ‘we should do this.’ the pantsless program.’
He joked: “Now can we put a camera in the back to make sure they did the same as me?”
The players, who were fully dressed, lost control laughing along with the adoring audience.
Ken later recalled to The View’s Sara Haines, “Alex must have heard.
“Because at the beginning of the show the music plays and the announcer says, ‘The host of ‘Jeopardy!’ Alex Trebek,’ and he comes out in his underwear.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much in my life. It reduced the tension,” Ken added.
YOGA FOR PLAY
Contestant Joe Feldman, a tech worker from Maryland, was defeated after two wins in 2022 – but his team could fall on Jeopardy! history.
Joe, on the left podium, wore a form-fitting zip-up pullover with a neon print.
He had Danger! Twitter furious that he was in no shape to play with his simply wild, fitness-evoking wardrobe choice.
“Casual Joe,” one fan posted while another repeated: “Casual Tuesday.”
A third wrote: “Ooh no. Clothes are often irrelevant, but a yoga outfit won’t do.”
A fourth joked: “Joe is straight from a bike race.”
While a fifth spun, “Why does it look like Joe has Jeopardy at 7 and the Tour de France at 7:30?”
Another similarly teased: “I’m sure Joe ran to the Jeopardy studio the day this episode was filmed.”
Yet another fumed: “Whatever Joe is using is a disgrace to Jeopardy. Surprised your bike helmet isn’t on the podium.”
AH SHIRT
Ryan Long was in the midst of his beloved 16-day winning streak that same year when a challenger showed up dressed in another impressive number.
John Sernoff, a “performing arts publicist” from Brooklyn, New York, wore a bright red Western-style shirt that appeared to have Bigfoot walking in opposite directions above the pockets.
“Is that…that Sasquatch on his shirt?” one tweeted in shock.
“Lol this @Jeopardy contestant has Bigfoot on his shirt,” wrote another.
“This is ridiculous and I am amazed. I love it when contestants bring their personal flair to Jeopardy,” a third commenter wrote.
A fourth interestingly imagined: “In an alternate universe, I hope Bigfoot is playing #jeopardy and wearing his shirt with two Ryans on it.”
A fifth even discovered Bigfoot, or at least the shirt, online while the game was airing.
“I found it if anyone wants it too,” the Twitter user shared, linking to the item that comes in multiple colors and costs $69 before shipping.
YOU RECEIVED MAIL
In 2023, Charlotte, a UPS driver, wore an outfit that stole the show even though she didn’t win the game.
The eye-catching red jacket had brass-coated fish lining the buttons and is made in Spain, according to an eagle-eyed fan who found the blazer online.
“I’m digging Charlotte’s jacket,” one Twitter user wrote at the time.
“What’s going on here at the Greatest Showman,” joked another.
Danger! guest hosts

Since Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek died in November 2020, the beloved game show has continued with several guest hosts in 2021 to the present day:
Another fan on Twitter noted that the outfit was a “tailored homage to the Royal Mail postmen during Queen Charlotte’s reign,” so it was also a pretty clever reference, given that she’s a UPS driver.
Charlotte then tweeted a selfie after her episode aired in sunglasses, a UPS hat, and the viral blazer while on the way to the mail in her truck.
“The entire @Jeopardy team is so warm and supportive,” she wrote.
“As I walked off stage (still hurting a little), one of the amazing contestant coordinators said to me ‘the day your episode airs, you should wear that jacket on your route and not tell anyone why.’
“I LOVED IT. SO I LOVED IT.”
