With $16,600 as his score, Will placed $10,000 in the Post-WWII Asian History category – meaning if he answered incorrectly, he would drop to second place, just $200 above Ashley.

After Ken read the question, Will fell silent before slowly answering, just before the timer rang.

“Right on time, that’s right,” praised newcomer Ken, who breathed a sigh of relief when his score rose to $26,600.

The big boost ended up taking him into Final Jeopardy in the lead, where he won with $26,200 despite missing the final clue.

Will, who is a political organizer originally from Nashville, Tennessee, finished the game with a three-day total of $70,501.

Ken wasn’t the only one impressed by Will at the end of the game as Jeopardy! fans shared their praise for the player on r/Jeopardy!, a Reddit thread dedicated to discussing the game show.

“Given that DDs tend to have a difficulty corresponding to their location on the board… I LOVE WILL’S BET,” wrote one fan.

“I would really love for him to lose. You have a category playing easier than most DJs and it’s the Line 2 track? If you don’t get it, you didn’t deserve to win anyway. (Heck, I could justify going all -in on any DD with a three-digit clue value, but that’s just me.)”

The fan continued: “I think Will has a good chance of winning two more and getting into the ToC Winner’s Circle.

“His big advantage is that he is very good at timing the rebound. He pulled in 5K (according to J! Archive) on rebounds alone today!

“This is a guy who knows what he knows and is very confident.”

“Yes, Will’s long pause scared me. What other Asian countries besides Korea are/were divided into North/South? He blurted it out at the right time,” agreed another.

The annual Tournament of Champions, or ToC as the Reddit user called it, is one of the game show’s most treasured traditions, featuring its best contestants from the previous season.

Champion Yogesh Raut won the 2024 Tournament of Champions, which qualified him for this year’s Jeopardy! Masters – which is ongoing now.

IN DANGER! MASTERS

James Holzhauer, Matt Amodio, Mattea Roach, Amy Schneider, Yogesh Raut and Victoria Groce are competing on this year’s Jeopardy! Master’s degree.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, fans get Double Jeopardy! as the second edition of Jeopardy Masters is underway shortly after the game show’s regular episodes air.

On Tuesday, May 14, Victoria was in the lead, with Yogesh not far behind.

It’s going to be hard to take down Jeopardy! James for being considered the best player ever on the show – but fans are confident that Victoria can dethrone James.
