WHEEL of Fortune fans demanded that the show’s producers make a major change to the rules.
The US game show has been rewarding players with a keen sense of putting words together since January 1975.
Longtime host Pat Sajak, 77, revealed he would be retiring from his iconic role on Wheel of Fortune and American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, 49, would take his place this fall.
Pat began hosting the show in 1984.
Vanna White, 67, will continue her role as card presenter.
However, many observers have expressed their opinions about a particular rule that should change.

If a player in the game wins a vacation, not only will they go home with the vacation already paid for, but the lucky person will also receive the dollar value of the vacation for the game.
This can be seen as an unfair influence on who wins.
FAN REACTION
On a Wheel of Fortune-based Reddit forum, fans shared their honest opinions about holiday wins.
“I wish the money earned from travel was not added to the cash earnings,” the original poster wrote.
One fan highlighted: “As for the prizes, I wish they gave away more than just trips.
“Maybe something like game rooms, home theaters, jewelry and some of the things they give away on The Price is Right.”
“Me too!” another agreed
A third explained: “I agree with you. I always hated that they did that. The person who wins a trip is being rewarded twice: they win the actual trip when the show ends and they get the cash value of the trip added to their game total to help increase your score.
“It’s a real travesty that they do this. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen the worst player win just because the travel prize put him over the top. It should never have been like that.”
BIG MISTAKE
This isn’t the first time fans have been disappointed with the popular game show.
In March, a contestant named Tom won a trip to South Dakota, but viewers noticed a mistake the producers made when airing his win.
Wheel of Fortune Host Timeline

Debuting in 1975, the beloved game show has had a few different iconic hosts over its nearly 50 seasons.
After Tom won the puzzle that won him a vacation, Pat said, “You know, this is a really great trip you didn’t take, we’re taking you on a tour of South Dakota!”
The cameras cut to Tom, who looked “couldn’t be more disappointed,” according to fans.
Wheel’s announcer mentioned “iconic views” that Tom would see in South Dakota, including Mount Rushmore.
IS THIS SOUTH DAKOTA?
Tom’s winning trip cost a total of $7,398.
Meanwhile, fans noticed that the video showed Devil’s Tower, which is located in Wyoming and not South Dakota.
Fans flooded X to point out the error.
One said: “Wheel of Fortune needs to work on its geography! The trip offered for the prize puzzle was a trip to western South Dakota, and the first image they showed was of Devil’s Tower in Wyoming!
While others couldn’t stop talking about their lackluster vacation.
“This Wheel of Fortune guy just won a vacation to South Dakota. LMAOOOO I would be elated.”
