DANGER! Masters suffered a huge drop in ratings on the show’s latest success.
This year’s Jeopardy! The Masters round began on May 1st, with the final set taking place on May 22nd.
However, compared to 2023 ratings, viewership has dropped by a large amount.
One episode was so successful that it became the series with the lowest ratings.
A fan searched the Wikipedia page for the game show, which characteristics former champions fighting each other.
“Episode four: 3.73 million viewers versus 5.2 million in 2023 (-28%, a series with low ratings).
“Episode five: 4.36 million versus 5.8 million in 2023 (-25%).
“Warnings: Friday is the lowest-rated night of the week, many people didn’t know it was happening, against sports, bad programming, people are watching Huluetc. Just reporting the numbers, interpret them however you want,” they shared with other fans on Reddit.
“I don’t know what’s considered good on TV anymore, but with ratings like this. It doesn’t look like we’ll get Masters three,” one person said in response.
“The big question is whether this is profitable for ABC and its affiliates,” another social media user speculated.
‘TIRED OF THIS’
Low viewing figures for the Masters this season have fans worried about the show.
Many fans theorized that viewers were tired of the broadcast of various tournaments and begged producers to go back to basics.
“This year the Masters comes after a season full of tournaments, so people are a little tired of it. Not to mention that 4 of the 6 were at the Masters last year,” said one person.
“It’s clear that there is a lot of tournament fatigue based on the almost daily posts on social media and Reddit. I bet this is the culprit”, agreed a second.
“Tournament fatigue as well as tiredness from seeing the same competitors over and over again,” added a third.
“It’s not new and innovative like it was last year,” one final commenter lamented.

SAD PROGRAMMING
In addition to suffering from reduced ratings, Jeopardy! is facing a new problem.
The show was removed from ABC’s fall schedule despite having a strong position last year.
Celebrity Danger! is missing from this year’s fall schedule and has been replaced by The Golden Bachelorette.
On Wednesdays at 8/7c, a time slot previously filled by Celebrity Jeopardy!, Joan Vassos will find love on the reality show.
“Wow, no game shows on the fall schedule. This is kind of sad,” wrote one person on a forum dedicated to Jeopardy! franchise.
“I expect Spring 2025 would be a good choice along with the return of Jeopardy Masters (if there is a third), Celebrity Wheel of Fortune (it is already being renewed) and The hunt (I hope it still gets renewed after not being shown for the first time since July 2023),” said a second.
Celebrity Danger! it also needs to find a new host when it returns to air, after Mayim Bialik was fired in December.
