DANGER! Fans are begging Mattea Roach to compete on Amazon’s new spinoff, and the beloved contestant isn’t opposed.
Earlier this week, the new Pop Culture spinoff Jeopardy! has been announced and will stream on Amazon Prime Video.
Many dangers! fans are excited about the spinoff and already have a contestant in mind.
Former Twitter user One X shared a post about the eventual premiere of the pop culture version of the iconic quiz show.
They cited Mattea, 24, as a must-have for the new show.
“I need @mattearoach this STAT,” the fan wrote.
The comment caught Mattea’s attention, and the 23-time champion responded that he was all-in.
“I just listened to Vanderpump Fools, honestly if I did this show with any of my straight sports expert friends we could destroy it,” they wrote.
The Canadian TV star has proven to be one of the toughest contestants on Jeopardy! history, accumulating over $800,000 in his streak and 2022 tournaments.
According to Jeopardy.compeople “can still sign up if they’re already on Jeopardy!”
That means the door is open for Mattea to wreak havoc on the new show (that is, with two sports-friendly friends).
WHAT IT IS: POP CULTURE DANGER!
Amazon Prime Video picked up the new version of Jeopardy! which will be broadcast exclusively on the platform.
The spinoff will be called Pop Culture Jeopardy! and will feature three major changes to the format.
Instead of answering general knowledge questions like players on the standard edition of the game show, contestants will answer questions about pop culture topics like music, movies, sports, TV and more.
Additionally, the show will be broadcast instead of broadcast on TV like the late night show.
Finally, there will not be three individual contestants competing against each other. Instead, there will be three teams of three facing each other.
That said, there’s one big unanswered clue regarding the streaming edition of the show – and that’s who will be behind Jeopardy! lectern.
Showrunner Michael Davies has not indicated that Ken Jennings, 49, will host the spinoff while juggling the late-night show.
Meanwhile, former host Mayim Bialik has apparently cut all ties with the franchise after being fired in 2023, so fans don’t think she’ll be hosting either.
