DANGER! champion Yogesh Raut treated fans to some winning photos from every 2024 Masters, including his never-before-seen plus-ones.
Ken Jennings hosts the $500,000 special, which is coming to a close on ABC on Wednesday, May 20.
Yogesh shared the candid photos on his public Facebook page before becoming one of the Masters finalists.
He will join Victoria Groce and defending champion James Holzhauer in the one-night-only clash tomorrow night.
Before the top three competed for the crown, Yogesh took a moment to reflect on his bonding time with his fellow Masters.
The first photo showed all six champions at a Los Angeles restaurant after enjoying some brain food.
Matt, 39, had his arm around his girlfriend, with whom he now lives in New York City.
Fans never saw Matt’s girlfriend, as the game show never cut to her in the audience during the special.
Meanwhile, James, Amy Schneider and Mattea rocked the casual looks, and the only player missing was Victoria.
In the second photo, Victoria appeared, rocking one of her regal long dresses backstage at Jeopardy! studio surrounded by Emmys.
In the third photo, everyone except James posed outside a hotel with their bags, having already arrived or finished the tournament.
The fourth photo Yogesh shared may have been the best of all, as it included 2023 masters Sam Buttrey and Andrew He.
The dynamic duo, along with Yogesh and Mattea, posed outside a hotel bar.
Mattea was joined by his younger brother, who fans have also never seen on air and who is his roommate in Toronto, Canada.
Mattea’s brother follows them in the fashion category by donning a chic button-down shirt and a mustache.
‘ADORABLE GIRLFRIEND AND BROTHER!’
In the caption, Yogesh explained that he shared the photos to celebrate Mattea’s elimination earlier.
Mattea and Matt were eliminated before the semi-finals, Amy (while seated) before the final.
He wrote: “All hail Mattea Roach!! Wonderful person, excellent questioner… queen of the wrist flick and deserving winner of the J! Masters game.
“Aside from the $50,000 appearance fee, the biggest reason I agreed to come to Jeopardy! Masters was to meet the two ‘masters’ I hadn’t met yet, Matt and Mattea.
“(When I told Matt this, he responded, characteristically, ‘I’m sorry to disappoint you.’)
“I enjoyed meeting them, as well as Matt’s lovely girlfriend and Mattea’s lovely brother.
“It was an added bonus to be able to walk away with Sam Buttrey and Andrew He (who J! brought in to provide color commentary for the playoffs) in the bargain.”
The 23-Day Champion began living with his brother despite amassing more than $800,000 on Jeopardy! shortly after his father’s abrupt death last year.
Unfortunately, Mattea and Matt were not eliminated and were eliminated before the semi-finals.
Then, Amy was eliminated before the finals and placed fourth, joining her 2022 ToC friends in the bottom three.
Amy won $100,000 for fourth place, Mattea $75,000 for fifth and Matt $50,000 for last.
MASTERS FINAL
Season 2 of Jeopardy! The Masters started at the beginning of this month and now it is another episode where a winner will be crowned.
The new primetime spinoff aims to determine the overall contender of six elite players.
The finalists are now Yogesh Victoria and James.
They will face each other over the course of a two-game night for a total of two-game points.
Just like the semi-finals, the final will see the classification once again clean.
But unlike previous rounds, the winner is determined by the highest score rather than a points system.
Whoever obtains the highest score on Wednesday alone will be elected the new Masters champion.
The Masters grand prize is $500,000, a flashy Alex Trebek trophy to honor the late iconic host, and bragging rights.
WHO WILL WIN?
Meanwhile, Masters 2024 was a shocker for James’ fans as he lost four times.
That’s a far cry from the 2023 Masters, when James lost just once and won the special with ease.
Emerging star Victoria – a 2005 one-day champion who mostly honed her skills as the Chase Queen – was considered the new trailblazer.
Fans were impressed by the 2024 JIT winner’s unexpected dominance, losing just twice, predicting she could dethrone James and win.
Yogesh, who won the 2024 Tournament of Champions, has also defeated James several times this year.
James is having such a hard time that the producers no longer present him as the “Final Boss” on air.
That said, he had a recovery episode before the final, which couldn’t have come at a better time.
As Yogesh, Victoria and James have a very similar and aggressive playing style, the Daily Doubles will likely determine the overall champion and Wednesday should be a huge success.
One social media user posted about the finale: “At this point, I legitimately CANNOT pick a favorite in the finals of this Jeopardy Masters.
“James, Victoria, and Yogesh are all wicked, and I truly think the winner will ultimately be whoever has the most luck in their path.”
That being said, no finalist goes home with loose change.
The runner-up will receive US$250,000 and third place US$100,000 and all three are guaranteed places in Season 3 of the Masters.
The Masters final is a one-night-only final and airs Wednesday, May 22 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
