Ken, 49, joked, “Unlike your average night of Jeopardy!, these are people who are very comfortable with the game,” during an interview with ABC news.

“Their minds are always changing. They will come up with incredibly difficult answers, but they also have enough brain space to make a joke or tease another player, or try to get under my skin,” he added.

The final is a two-game competition in which third place will take home $150,000, second place will win $250,000 and $500,000, plus the coveted Trebek Trophy, for Jeopardy! Master’s degree winner.

When discussing Masters champion James Holzhauer’s chances of winning, Jeopardy! the host admitted, “Last year he looked beatable!

“So I wonder if that gave Yogesh and Victoria some ideas.”

“I have to say that after watching them play in the early rounds of the competition, they don’t seem intimidated at all,” added Ken.

The competition prize is named after the game show’s longtime host, Alex Trebek.

Ken mentioned the name of the trophy and the late presenter when he told the channel: “Alex’s presence is big and now we call it the Alex Trebek stage and the players and the public really like it and who better to name the trophy than Alex, especially when you have that amazing alliteration, Trebek Trophy.”

He also talked about what Jeopardy! means to him when asked where he would be without the show.

“I think about this a lot,” Ken admitted.

The game show host continued: “Next month is the 20th anniversary of my first appearance on Jeopardy! A week or two is the 20th anniversary.

“I was a rather unhappy computer programmer at the time, thinking to myself: I should do something different with my life. You know, just on a whim, I joined Jeopardy!

“So I guess there’s another world where I’m a somewhat unhappy computer programmer and Dr. Oz is hosting Jeopardy! It’s a very dark universe,” Jennings responded.

ROOTING FOR WHO?

After eight episodes, tonight’s finale will feature Victoria Groce, Yogesh Raut and James Holzhauer.

Amy Schneider was eliminated earlier this week, placing fourth ahead of contestants Mattea Roach and Matt Amodio, who were eliminated before the semi-finals.

Ahead of Wednesday night’s showdown, some fans revealed who they hope will be named Masters Season 2 champion.

Although James may be the defending champion, he has lost three more games this year than last year – much to his chagrin and fans’ surprise.

With him seemingly struggling more the second time around, many viewers began rooting for Victoria to take home the crown.

“Good luck in the ‘Jeopardy! Masters’ finals tonight, Victoria Groce!!!” one person wrote in X.

“Come on, Victoria. Win Jeopardy Masters. If you win, you get a trip to Outback Steakhouse, I’ll deliver macaroni and cheese (penne pasta) to you. Come on, Victoria. You got this,” joked a second.

“@GraceWithAnO We are rooting for you on Jeopardy Masters. You are certainly the smartest person in the room. However, since the finals started, your anxiety is taking a toll. Be bold or go home, you can do it,” said a third .

The influence of public opinion comes after some critics made it clear they did not want to see Victoria progress to the final.

On Friday, the show shared player statistics on Instagram, showing Victoria’s 93% correct answer percentage.

She also had the highest correct daily double bet, 20,800, and the highest final score, 50,000.

“Anyone but Victoria,” one fan complained in the comments, while a second wrote: “I just can’t support Victoria.”

UNEXPECTED CHANGE

The new airing format of the finale has made some fans believe that the next show will be “not exciting at all.”

Just like the semi-finals, tonight’s episode will clear the standings to a level playing field.

Danger! Universe

Danger! it first aired in 1964 until 1975. Then, the nighttime version began in 1974. Since then, spinoffs of the game show have appeared. Here are all those

Danger! – (primetime) 1974 to present, weekdays on ABC at 7 p.m.

Tournament of Champions – 1984 to present, features the top champions who have appeared on the show since the last tournament

Celebrity Danger! – From 1992 to the present, celebrities compete against each other to raise money for the chair

Danger! Masters – 2023 to present, features six notable recent Jeopardy! champions competing against each other

Danger! National College Championship – From 2022 to present, undergraduates from 36 colleges and universities across America compete to win $100,000

Other versions of Jeopardy! disappeared over the years

However, players will compete in just one episode in a two-game total points contest, meaning whoever scores the most on Wednesday will be named champion.

As the points system is not being used, the winner will be determined by the highest combined score from both matches.

Ultimately, the champion may not necessarily win any of the games – just have the higher overall total.

The final also consists of just one episode of two matches, rather than four as in previous rounds.

Fans shared their thoughts on the new format on Reddit after one person asked: “What’s with the total points in 2 games?

“The final usually ends after the first game, making the second game not very exciting in many cases.”

“Taking six episodes to eliminate two players, two episodes to eliminate one player, and then taking one episode to determine the winner of it all seems counterintuitive, IMO,” a second added.

“As it stands, it looks like they got the last three, now they just want to get it over with,” said another.

While the winner will receive the highest amount – $500,000 – second place will also receive $250,000 and third place will get $100,000.

All three are also guaranteed spots in Season 3 of the Masters.
