On Wednesday, Jeopardy! Masters crowned its newest winner after a few weeks of intense play.

The tournament saw six of the game show’s recent top contestants – James Holzhauer, Victoria Groce, Amy Schneider, Matt Amodio, Mattea Roach and Yogesh – battling it out.

Mattea and Matt were eliminated from the round-robin event last week and did not advance to the semifinals.

Amy lost on Monday, sending only James, Victoria and Yogesh to the final.

Although fans were trying to focus solely on who would or wouldn’t be named the ultimate winner, some couldn’t get over how Yogesh was handling the buzzer.

PUSH VISITORS’ BUTTONS

“Can someone from the @Jeopardy camp tell Yogesh to stop pushing the button please,” begged one angry viewer.

“Happy he didn’t win,” replied a second, before calling the play “so arrogant.”

“Yes, yes, yes, I’m very happy about it,” one of them replied. “There are so many things I don’t like about him.”

“The bad thing is that he will be back next [year] in this program”, added the X user (former Twitter).

Along with his boring behavior, viewers also questioned one of the answers Yogesh gave on the show.

SURPRISING DECISION

He received points for his Salt and Pepa answer to a clue read aloud by guest star Jason Kelce, but the group’s name is Salt-N-Pepa.

Ken even said this to Yogesh, but he still considered it the correct answer, and this did not please the fans.

“Wait… they accepted Yogesh’s clearly pronounced Salt AND Pepa as correct, when Gangster’s Paradise was famously found to be incorrect,” wondered one upset viewer, referring to a decision from a few years ago.

Other versions of Jeopardy! disappeared over the years

A danger! The player said Coolio’s hit was called Gangster’s Paradise, and although the late Alex Trebek originally deemed it correct, the judges later removed the points.

The correct answer was Gangsta’s Paradise, and this was recently brought back to Celebrity Jeopardy! when a contestant lost points for saying Gangster’s Paradise due to this precedent.

“I was surprised they didn’t come back later and call it incorrect,” a second fan said of Yogesh’s response after learning about the previous similar decision.

“I can’t believe they gave him credit for this,” wrote a third furious fan. “If book/movie titles have to be accurate, shouldn’t artist names also be accurate?”

“We were sure they would come back from the break with a score correction,” the user added.

THE WINNER IS…

Although Yogesh was found to be correct in his answer, it still did not help him in the long run as he did not win the tournament.

He came second, while Victoria took first place.

His total score in the finals was 55,400 points, while Yogesh was second with 45,910 and James came third with 38,017.

As the new Masters champion, Victoria received $500,000 for herself, $100,000 for the charity Partners in Health and the Trebek Trophy.

“Long live the queen! This is the winner I wanted,” wrote an excited fan on an online forum.

“Kill, Victoria, kill,” said a second spectator. “I’m so happy for her!”

“A deserved victory,” insisted a third fan. “Great game!’
