WHEEL of Fortune co-host Vanna White opened up about her future on the game show.
The 67-year-old TV star, who joined WoF in 1982, admitted he had recently considered retiring from the role.
After more than 40 years, Pat will end his hosting career when his final episode of Wheel of Fortune airs on June 7, with the season 41 finale.
The next episode has already been filmed, and Pat was recently spotted enjoying his new retired life in casual attire while running errands.
American Idol star Ryan Seacrest will take over as the new host in September, and Vanna will continue her role as co-host.
In a new interview as part of Wheel of Fortune: Farewell, TV Guide magazine’s Pat Sajak, Vanna talked about her years on the show with Pat and moving on without him.
She admitted when she heard Pat was retiring from the game show that “maybe [she] should retire too,” according to TVInsider.
MOVING?
Vanna has decided that although she is not ready to leave Wheel of Fortune yet and has signed on for two more years, she will see how she feels when her last contract is up.
“I thank God, after all these years, that I still love my job,” she joked about her current feelings.
Although she is still happy to be on WoF and looks forward to co-hosting with Ryan in the future, Vanna said it is difficult for her to fully explain her feelings about Pat leaving.
“I’m happy for him,” she said. “I can’t imagine doing the show without him after 41 years.”
“I summarized how [like] reading a good book,” added the 67-year-old. “It always has to end.”
Although this one is coming to an end, Vanna said, “This was the best book I’ve ever read.”
Vanna isn’t the only one who will miss Pat when he steps down from his hosting role.
HUMOROUS HOST
