Danger! Champion Victoria Groce points to a ‘hopeful fact’ Chase renewal could be on the horizon

DANGER! champion Victoria Groce offered hope that The Chase would be renewed for another season.

Before claiming victory in the second Masters tournament, Victoria previously competed in The Chase in 2022.

The Chase was another quiz show where three contestants competed against The Chaser, a quiz genius determined to stop them from winning cash prizes.

The View’s Sara Haines, 46, hosted the show for three seasons.

Past contestants have included Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings, 50, and players James Holzhauer and Buzzy Cohen.

The last episode of The Chase aired in July 2023.

And now, in a Question and answer session with Redditors, a fan asked the Masters champion if she had any news about future episodes of The Chase.

“I assume you may be under an NDA (non-disclosure agreement), but is there any information you can reveal about future episodes of The Chase, or is the show likely already over at this point?” one fan asked.

“We’re kind of in limbo!” Victoria replied.

“We were neither canceled nor renewed.”

“I hope the fact that we were asked to talk about this on Jeopardy! be a good sign”, she concluded.

‘OUT OF THE BLUE’

Another fan asked if his success on The Chase became a “stepping stone to Jeopardy!” domination.

“I did NOT have a feeling I would be returning to the show at any point,” replied the TV star – who appeared in four episodes.

“It was really totally unexpected.”

“My husband [Philip Groce] I can guarantee that I was in an absolute state of shock for days after the invitation,” continued Victoria.

“I don’t see The Chase specifically becoming a feeder for Jeopardy contestants just because of the numbers.”

Danger! Universe

Danger! it first aired in 1964 until 1975. Then, the nighttime version began in 1974. Since then, spinoffs of the game show have appeared. Here are all those

Danger! – (primetime) 1974 to present, weekdays on ABC at 7 p.m.

Tournament of Champions – 1984 to present, features the top champions who have appeared on the show since the last tournament

Celebrity Danger! – From 1992 to the present, celebrities compete against each other to raise money for the chair

Danger! Masters – 2023 to present, features six notable recent Jeopardy! champions competing against each other

Danger! National College Championship – From 2022 to present, undergraduates from 36 colleges and universities across America compete to win $100,000

BECOMING A MASTER

In mid-May, Victoria thwarted James’ chance of a repeat Masters victory and earned a total score of $55,400 after two close games.

The danger! The champion received $500,000, the coveted Trebek Trophy, and $100,000 to the charity Partners in Health for her tournament victory.

After hugs and handshakes were shared with James and Yogesh Raut, Victoria joined Ken to receive the Trebek Trophy.

Fans flooded X, formerly known as Twitter, with praise for the trio.

“Just saying it wouldn’t be a bad idea for ABC to do another season of The Chase with these three,” noted one commenter.

Victoria retweeted the post, teasing the return of the final three on The Chase.
