JEOPARDY contestant Amar Kakirde won his fourth game, however, many observers criticized him after realizing
During Monday’s Jeopardy episode, Amar faced Tim Keily and Ryan Alcorn, but ended up winning.
Throughout the game, Amar was the only contestant to find the Daily Double during both Jep rounds.
At the end of Double Jeopardy, Amar was leading with $16,000, with Ryan in second place with $7,200 and Tim in third with $5,000.
The final question of the night had to do with which singer topped the Billboard Hot 100 Chart with a song she released in the late 1950s.
Unfortunately, no one got the answer right, which was Brenda Lee with her Christmas hit Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree.
Ryan didn’t bet anything, so his score stayed the same, and Tim bet $2,251 for a total score of $2,749.
Amar didn’t get the answer right and lost just US$1,500, for a new total of US$14,500.
Since his first win last Wednesday, his four-day winning total is $55,899, which many viewers considered extremely low.
WHAT THE FANS THINK
On a Reddit forum dedicated to the popular US game show, some fans pointed out Amar’s winnings.
One fan asked, “How much does Amar’s four-day cash total compare to four-game champions of the past?
“I imagine it must definitely be on the lower end of the four-day cash earnings during the show. history.”
A second user went into detail about several past winners and their four-day low scores.
“Since May 24, 2010 (i.e. the current ToC cycle and the previous nine), Amar is the 138th player to win four games,” they said.
A third wrote: “The average winning score is about $21,000 (adjusting for current track values), so Amar, averaging about $14,000 per game, is a bit lower.
“Part of this is due to the fact that three of his four games were played close enough that he didn’t have room to significantly increase his score in the final.”
