JEOPARDY champion Amar Kakirde left fans shocked after his recent move from the game show.
On Tuesday’s episode, Amar was one game away from being a contestant on the next season of the Tournament of Champions.
However, Jeopardy’s newest contestants, Abby Mann and Steve Miller, gave Amar a run for his money.
Since his first win on last Wednesday’s episode, Amar has raised an incredible $55,899 – which many fans considered very low.
At the end of the episode, Steve was in first place with $15,400, Amar was in second with $14,200, and Abby was in third with $8,200.
The contestant’s Final Jeopardy question had to do with European scientists.
Abby got the answer wrong with her final score of $5,200.
Meanwhile, Amar gambled almost all of his winnings except $1, but he wasn’t sure.
Steve bet $13,001 but got the answer wrong and ended up with $2,399, meaning Abby is the new Jeopardy champion.
WHAT THE FANS THINK
On a Reddit forum dedicated to the US game show, fans pointed out the reason for Amar’s loss.
One fan said: “It’s hard to believe a four-time champion would make such a blatant betting error on FJ.”
“Unfortunately, Amar’s big over-the-top bet cost him the win,” said a second.
A third responded to the above comment with: “Very appropriate considering he won his second game because second place made a huge under bet.
“It’s like poetry, it rhymes.”
THE TIME TO LOVE IN DANGER
When discussing his victories, viewers of the game show felt that Amar was very lucky with his opponents.
“Amar was lucky his opponents messed up a lot,” said one.
