A WHEEL of Fortune contestant has called himself the worst player of all time after throwing a wheel wedge onto the stage.

The contestant, Brian from Hoboken New Jersey, discussed the “troubling” moment on The Spin with Maggie Sajak.

On the Instagram show, Maggie, 29, interviewed fan-favorite contestants Rhachel, who won an African Safari, and Brian, who gifted Pat Sajak’s daughter a t-shirt representing her hometown.

Brian told Wheel of Fortune’s social correspondent, “From the people of Hoboken, I just want to give you this shirt and tell you that you are now family in the Hoboken community forever.”

Maggie asked him what his “favorite wedge on the steering wheel is?”

“I’m very used to bankruptcy now. This is part of my family right now,” Brian complained.

The video cut to a clip of Brian’s spin falling into bankruptcy, causing the contestant to grab the wedge and launch himself across the stage.

He continued: “I think this is the third or fourth time I’ve done this on this show.

“I could be considered the worst competitor in history, but in the end I was here twice [and] playing for the people.”

In the comments section of the video, one fan wrote: “What a fun game!

“Whoever put these 3 players together deserves a medal. And thankful no one was decapitated by Brian’s failed wedge throw!”

“I laughed when Brian played the Mystery Wedge after finding out he was broke,” commented a second viewer.

A third person commented: “Same, but I was really worried the wedge might scratch someone.”

“Brian made the show so much fun last night! He won $2,000!” added another.

NOT SO FAST

On Monday, a contestant forced host Pat Sajak, 77, to intervene after prematurely celebrating solving a puzzle.

During Triple Toss Up, the night’s three contestants were tasked with solving different phrase-based puzzles.

Returning contestant Cynthia quickly solved the first two puzzles, raising $4,000.

She was stumped in the third, however, which allowed contestant Rufus to come up with an answer.

“Don’t look away,” he guessed confidently.

As soon as he said the sentence, Cynthia started clapping and her colleague Luidgi stretched out his hand to throw a punch.

However, not everyone was so enthusiastic when Pat shouted, “No! No!”

The trio looked surprised when the game show host announced, “That’s not correct!”

“Everyone is congratulating everyone and we can have the money,” Pat added sarcastically.

On X, formerly Twitter, viewers joked at the expense of competitors.

“Tonight, the Wheel of Fortune went from the ‘Right in the Butt’ incident last week, to THIS!” one commenter joked, referring to a past mistake.

“Wow, the Wheel of Fortune people celebrated too soon and lost the extra money…”

“Well, that missed shot was [laughing emoji],” commented a third viewer.

“Just when you thought you had solved an easy puzzle…” someone joked.

“They really made Pat work harder than ever in his last season,” commented another Wheel of Fortune viewer.

Pat is expected to retire from his hosting role after this season.

RETIREMENT

Wheel of Fortune fans are just days away from having to say goodbye to Pat, as the longtime host announced last year that he was retiring from the game show at the end of the 41st season.

In June 2023, Pat revealed that he would be leaving the show, and it was announced shortly after that Ryan Seacrest would take over as host.

Wheel of Fortune Host Timeline

Debuting in 1975, the beloved game show has had a few different iconic hosts over its nearly 50 seasons.

Almost a year later, the final episode of Pat on Wheel of Fortune is almost here.

The grand finale was filmed last month and is set to air on June 7th.

One concerned online fan said there are only five episodes left with Pat on the show.

Another responded to let them know they had a little more time with the host as he still had 10 more episodes to go.

With just days left in its run, viewers have begun to wonder how the show will pay tribute to Pat to honor his 40-plus years on the show.

He joined in late 1981 after original host Chuck Woolery’s contract was not renewed due to a salary dispute.

Original co-host Susan Stafford remained on the show for a year, before leaving and being replaced by Vanna White, who has been with the show ever since.

With Pat already preparing to leave, the show has prepared a series of tributes.

The week-long farewell will be called Thanks for the Memories and will culminate in its final episode.
