DANGER! fans criticized one of the show’s categories after a player confused two rap legends once again.

Wednesday’s episode of the game show saw contestants Brian O’Shea, Adriana Harmeyer and Abby Mann take the stage.

The first round featured the Classic Rap Lyrics category, along with Romances, This & That, Louisiana Parish Names, Don’t Stop Retrievin’ and Change The S To An N.

When Brian chose the rap lyrics category, host Ken Jennings, 50, said: “He rapped, ‘Today I didn’t even have to use my AK, I must say it was a good day.’

Abby rang the doorbell first, incorrectly answering, “Who’s Ice-T?”

Disappointed that she had confused two rap legends, Brian correctly responded, “Who’s Ice Cube?”

This wasn’t the first time two Jeopardy! contestants confused well-known rappers on the show.

During the airing, viewers took to X, formerly Twitter, criticizing Jeopardy! for including the category in the first place.

“I’m about to get pissed off about this rap category,” one viewer wrote at the start of the show.

“Oh no. Once again, a #Jeopardy contestant confused Ice-T and Ice Cube,” noted a second.

“Ugh. An entire category dedicated to ‘rap lyrics’. I hope this isn’t a trend,” criticized a third on Reddit.

Others mentioned the lack of female representation in responses regarding rap categories.

“Believe it or not, there are a lot of classic rap lyrics written by women,” one person wrote, adding, “Big missed opportunity to highlight the contributions of Sha-Rock, Roxanne Shanté, MC Lyte, or Queen Latifah.”

SIMILAR INSTANCE

Earlier this week, another contestant confused two rappers once again when he asked a pop culture question.

In the new episode, player Amar Kakirde was one victory away from securing a place in the next season of the Tournament of Champions.

The returning contestant appeared to give his answer to a $400 clue in the Name The Celebrity category.

Danger! Universe

Danger! it first aired in 1964 until 1975. Then, the nighttime version began in 1974. Since then, many spinoffs of the game show have emerged. Here they are all:

Danger! – (syndicated) 1974 to present, weekdays on ABC at 7pm ET.

Tournament of Champions – 1984 to present, features the top champions who have appeared on the show since the last tournament.

Second Chance Tournament – 2022 to Present features hand-selected non-winners from the previous season, where the prize is entry into the Champions Wildcard.

Pop Culture Jeopardy (streaming) – from 2024 to present, will feature teams of three in charge of pop culture trivia on Amazon Prime, host and air date to be determined

Danger! eliminated specialized tournaments, such as University Tournaments, Children’s Week and Teacher’s Tournament, to move towards a more sporting model, with the Masters being the top of the Jeopardy pyramid.

Other versions of Jeopardy! have also failed over the years, such as Sports Jeopardy!.

“A rapper: he has 2 children with Rihanna. Actor in 2018’s Dope and Monster,” the clue said.

“Who is Jay Z?” Amar asked uncertainly.

Ken immediately laughed, adding, “No. Big news for Beyoncé if true.”

“This is ASAP Rocky,” he added as Amar grimaced in response to the correct answer.

Fans once again weighed in on the memorable moment, with one person writing on Instagram: “Just get everyone together, huh? [bullseye].”

WEDNESDAY’S VICTORY

While Brian may have given the correct answer in the rap category, contestant Adriana secured the overall victory.

The final moments of the show saw Ken nearly reprimand the bowtie-wearing player after he found the last Daily Double in the White House Weddings category for $1,600.

Brian bet $6,000, or almost the entire third-place score, to get back into the game.

“The first ceremony was in 1812, when Lucy Payne Washington, sister of this First Lady, married Supreme Court Justice Thomas Todd,” the clue read.

“Martha Washington!” Brian responded, clearly latching onto the “Washington” aspect of the message.

“No, I’m sorry,” Ken replied, while Brian was distraught and banging on the podium.

The host noted that his answer was not based on the date and that he must not have read the entire clue.

“In 1812, it would have been Dolley Madison,” Ken said.

Left with just $100, Brian had no time to recover and was removed from the stage for Final Jeopardy.
