Larry made it to the Bonus Round on Wednesday’s show after winning the game.

He chose the “Phrase” category, which consisted of four words.

After Wheel gave him R, S, T, L, N, and E, Larry chose three more consonants and a vowel.

He selected B, M, D and A.

When all the cards were filled, Larry only had five.

The puzzle went like this, “_’M __ST S____N_ ___.”

When the clock started, the contestant guessed, “I’m just showing off” and “I’m just spending.”

He didn’t guess the correct puzzle before the timer went off and the crowd groaned.

The puzzle was revealed to be “I’m Just Showing Off”.

“Don’t do that! Don’t do that!” Larry said.

“Let’s go!” he shouted when it was revealed that he had only gotten one word wrong. “It’s okay. It’s okay.”

“I’m back for the second time. I believe in second chances,” Larry said.

Host Pat Sajak showed him the amount he could have won, which was $100,000.

Upon seeing the amount, Larry put his hands on his head, walked away, and said, “Don’t do that!”

Wheel of Fortune Host Timeline

Although Pat and Vanna have been a fixture on the game show for decades, there have been other hosts

Chuck Woolery was the host from 1975 to 1981

He co-hosted alongside Susan Stafford (1975 to 1982)

Vanna White took over as host in 1982 and has been since then.

After a contract and salary dispute, the show got rid of Chuck and brought back Pat in 1982.

Pat hosted Susan for a season

He then left the game show in 1989 to host a late-night talk show for CBS.

For five months, NFL player Rolf Benirschke took his place

In July 1989, Bob Goen hosted the show on CBS

He hosted for a year and a half until the show was canceled in 1991

The show was then moved to ABC, with Pat and Vanna hosting for the foreseeable future.

In 2023, Pat announced his retirement and Ryan Seacrest was quickly named his replacement

“Well, I don’t know exactly why or how I can comfort someone who just won over $34,000,” said Pat, 77.

“But, I know it hurt and you were so close.”

LARRY EXPLAINS

After the show, Larry explained to social media correspondent Maggie Sajak how this loss made him feel.

Maggie, 29, said she wouldn’t address Bonus Puzzle, but since Larry did, they would talk about it.

“Out, not out. That will live with me forever,” Larry said.

Larry finished by saying that Wheel means a lot to him and is where “dreams happen.”

FAN REACTION

Once the video was posted on Instagram, fans reacted in the comments.

“$100,000 heartbroken,” one fan wrote.

“I’m still recovering. It’s a process”, replied another.

“Seeing that envelope hurt a little, but you did great,” said one Instagram user.

“I wish he had won,” added a third.

“I was sad about losing $100,000, I thought you would get confetti at first,” said another.
