During Thursday’s episode of Wheel of Fortune, contestant Tyra made it to the bonus round.

The category was food and drink, and despite being given five letters, she had trouble guessing the correct answer.

“Chef’s table,” Tracy guessed initially.

The seconds continued to tick by and it was clear that Tracy was perplexed.

Letters began to appear, completing the puzzle.

The correct answer – chewy caramel – appeared on the screen.

Tracy let out an audible sigh, which was met with resistance from Pat.

“What do you mean, ah?” he questioned.

She laughed and replied, “I never would have imagined that.”

The pair laughed before Pat opened the prize card to reveal what Tracy lost.

Wheel of Fortune Host Timeline

Although Pat and Vanna have been a fixture on the game show for decades, there have been other hosts

Chuck Woolery was the host from 1975 to 1981

He co-hosted alongside Susan Stafford (1975 to 1982)

Vanna White took over as host in 1982 and has been since then.

After a contract and salary dispute, the show got rid of Chuck and brought back Pat in 1982.

Pat hosted Susan for a season

He then left the game show in 1989 to host a late-night talk show for CBS.

For five months, NFL player Rolf Benirschke took his place

In July 1989, Bob Goen hosted the show on CBS

He hosted for a year and a half until the show was canceled in 1991

The show was then moved to ABC, with Pat and Vanna hosting for the foreseeable future.

In 2023, Pat announced his retirement and Ryan Seacrest was quickly named his replacement

“It was the car,” she said with disappointment in her voice.

Although Tyra didn’t receive any support from Pat on her Wheel of Fortune episode, she did receive some support from fans.

On social media, viewers shared kind messages for the competitor.

“I love Tyra. She’s the best!” one person wrote on YouTube comments.

“Oh, well, Tyra still did great!” someone gushed.

OUT WITH A BANG

Pat is preparing to retire from Wheel of Fortune.

In his final episodes of the show, fans noticed an air of relaxation like never before.

Pat’s interaction with Tyra isn’t the first time he’s criticized a Wheel of Fortune contestant in recent weeks.

In fact, just a few episodes earlier, he had to step in to correct all three players at an awkward moment.

On Monday, May 27, Pat yelled at the three players as they prematurely celebrated one player’s perceived right answer.

However, the problem was that the answer was not right.

During Triple Toss Up, the panel of players were tasked with solving three phrase-based puzzles.

Returning contestant Cynthia quickly solved two puzzles, winning $4,000.

She was stumped on the third, which allowed her competitor, Rufus, to give his own answer.

“Don’t look away,” he suggested.

As soon as he responded, Cynthia clapped and the third player, Luidgi, reached out to throw a punch.

Pat, however, wasn’t celebrating.

“No no!” he screamed.

The players stopped, stunned.

“That’s not right,” Pat explained.

“Everyone is congratulating everyone and we can keep the money.”

PEACE, PAT

Pat will retire from Wheel of Fortune next month.

Its final episode, “Thanks For The Memories,” will air on June 7.

It has not yet been revealed whether Pat’s farewell episode will be a full tribute or a normal episode with a farewell at the end.

Either way, the episode will be an important milestone.

Pat has appeared on Wheel of Fortune since 1981, and Vanna White, 66, joined him in 1982.

Asked by TVInsider on Monday how long she thinks she will stay on the show, Vanna said: “I don’t know.

“When I heard Pat was retiring, I thought maybe I should retire too, but I’m not ready!

“We’ll see at the end of these two years how I feel.

“I thank God, after all these years, that I still love my job.”

Ryan Seacrest, 49, was chosen as Pat’s replacement last year.
