RYAN Seacrest has been criticized in the latest Wheel Of Fortune promo.
The 49-year-old was announced to replace regular presenter Pat Sajak in September, and will take on his new role in June.
Ryan was the topic of conversation in Pat’s latest Instagram video, where he sat down with his daughter, Maggie Sajak.
The father and daughter discussed Pat’s long career in an exclusive interview following her final week on Wheel Of Fortune.
Maggie asked her father if he dreamed of being a game show host, to which he replied no.
“I had a great aunt who broadcast radio shows and they really influenced me,” he revealed.

They mentioned the fact that Pat joined the army and was appointed as a finance officer in Vietnam, before being transferred to Saigon and starting work on the Morning Show.
Pat said he took on the same role as Robin Williams in the film Good Morning Vietnam.
He also said that when he returned to Los Angeles, he got a job near the studio and offered to work after the host left his position.
Fans flooded the comments with admiration for Pat and sadness that he was leaving.
Several followers were not happy with Ryan’s arrival as they felt he might not live up to Pat’s legacy.
“Maggie should be the host!! I don’t know who thought Seacrest was a good option,” one user wrote.
“Ryan Seacrest has taken on a lot of things, from American Idol to Rockin New Year’s Eve and now Wheel of Fortune,” added another.
“We will definitely miss Pat,” said a third.
“You are so loved, I think Maggie and Vanna should run the show. That would be amazing,” noted a fourth.
“I definitely don’t feel like they picked the right host if they wanted to keep the show on the air. Very disappointing,” expressed a fifth.
LAST WEEK
Pat is currently in her final week, aptly titled “Thanks For The Memories.”
On Monday, Pat explained why he chose to leave the show on Good Morning America.
During the nearly four-minute segment, 29-year-old Maggie Sajak — social media correspondent for Wheel of Fortune — interviewed her father about his retirement.
“It feels surprisingly good,” Pat said of his time on the show ending so soon.
“This was announced a long time ago, almost a year ago,” he noted.
“So I had time to get used to it. And it’s been a little dreary and all, but I’m enjoying it, taking it all in and reflecting on what a great run it was.”
Wheel of Fortune Host Timeline

Although Pat and Vanna have been a fixture on the game show for decades, there have been other hosts
Chuck Woolery was the host from 1975 to 1981
He co-hosted alongside Susan Stafford (1975 to 1982)
Vanna White took over as host in 1982 and has been since then.
After a contract and salary dispute, the show got rid of Chuck and brought back Pat in 1982.
Pat hosted Susan for a season
He then left the game show in 1989 to host a late-night talk show for CBS.
For five months, NFL player Rolf Benirschke took his place
In July 1989, Bob Goen hosted the show on CBS
He hosted for a year and a half until the show was canceled in 1991
The show was then moved to ABC with Pat and Vanna as hosts for the foreseeable future.
In 2023, Pat announced his retirement and Ryan Seacrest was quickly named his replacement
Pat, who began hosting Wheel of Fortune in 1981, recognized that the show is more than any other show on TV.
“We became part of popular culture. And most importantly, we become part of people’s lives,” he said. “And that has been very rewarding.”
Pat’s final episode will air this Friday, June 7, 2024.
