Lesly married Pat Sajak, 77, in 1989, and they welcomed a son, Stephen, in 1990, followed by Maggie in 1995.

In the photo, the Wheel of Fortune star and her mother posed glamorously in a hallway.

Both women had their hair artfully curled, and Maggie showed off her figure in a bodycon silver dress, while Lesly looked chic in an embroidered black pantsuit.

“Thank you for the love… and stay tuned for the rest of this special week,” Maggie wrote alongside the stunning photo.

She added a white heart emoji and signed it “the Sajaks.”

By “this special week,” Maggie was referring to Pat’s final week on the show, which included a special thank you for the memories segment.

A full year passed before its final episodes aired, after Pat announced her intention to leave on June 12, 2023.

“Well, the time has come. I have decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be our last.

“It’s been a wonderful journey and I’ll have more to say in the coming months,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, at the time.

PAT PLANS

As part of his Thanks for the Memories series with Maggie, Pat revealed why he left Wheel of Fortune, along with his plans for the future.

The star pondered his early retirement, but concluded it was better to go “a few years too early than a few years too late.”

“Can I still do this? Yes, I think I can for a while,” she added.

“There are also other things in life we would like to do. I’m enjoying the past year. It’s been an incredible 40 years.”

The television presenter concluded: “I’m looking forward to what’s to come.”

Wheel of Fortune Host Timeline

Although Pat and Vanna have been a fixture on the game show for decades, there have been other hosts

Chuck Woolery was the host from 1975 to 1981

He co-hosted alongside Susan Stafford (1975 to 1982)

Vanna White took over as host in 1982 and has been since then.

After a contract and salary dispute, the show got rid of Chuck and brought back Pat in 1982.

Pat hosted Susan for a season

He then left the game show in 1989 to host a late-night talk show for CBS.

For five months, NFL player Rolf Benirschke took his place

In July 1989, Bob Goen hosted the show on CBS

He hosted for a year and a half until the show was canceled in 1991

The show was then moved to ABC with Pat and Vanna as hosts for the foreseeable future.

In 2023, Pat announced his retirement and Ryan Seacrest was quickly named his replacement

Pat then jokingly placed the responsibility on Maggie, implying that he was expecting grandchildren to fill his time.

BIG SHOES TO FILL

Pat’s decision to leave the show left a big gap to fill, but Wheel of Fortune left little time before announcing its cast News.

Just days after Pat’s departure, the show revealed his replacement host: Ryan Seacrest, 49.

Ryan will join seasoned pro Vanna White, 67, who will remain on the show as his co-host after admitting she also considered retiring with her decades-long co-star.

However, not all fans were happy with the American Idol star’s casting and suggested that Maggie should host Wheel of Fortune with Vanna.

“Maggie should be the host!! I don’t know who thought Seacrest was a good option,” one person commented on Maggie’s interview with her father.

“I definitely don’t feel like they picked the right host if they wanted to keep the show on the air. Very disappointing,” said a second social media user.
