A WHEEL of Fortune contestant made a hilarious puzzle fail and Pat Sajak couldn’t resist shutting it down ferociously before retiring.

Pat, 77, is in his final week as host, aptly titled “Thanks For The Memories,” with Wednesday marking his penultimate episode.

Nonie, who has already auditioned three times, was up against JP and construction worker Allison, who was sporting a bow tie.

While tonight’s Wheel of Fortune episode was standard in its format, it was anything but, as Pat’s last show is this Friday, June 7th.

Of course, your last week after four decades wouldn’t be complete without a total puzzle fail.

Top honors went to Nonie, who mastered a “Food and Drink” puzzle and won a share of $3,500.

Pat said, “Now the trick here is you need to find a letter.”

She correctly chose a “D,” meaning she would have a great achievement if she managed to finish.

The puzzle only had two blank letters, saying “S_PER_OOD SMOOTHIE”.

“I’d like to settle, Pat!” she declared when the host gave her the go-ahead, “What do you have?”

“Super good smoothie!” she exclaimed to the crickets.

The incorrect buzzer sounded and Vanna White, in a bright, noticeable pantsuit, flinched.

“No!” Pat shouted bluntly.

He toned it down and added, “I’m sorry that’s not correct.”

“Oh, God,” Nonie wailed as she hunched over the steering wheel, looking distraught and losing the amount she had accumulated.

JP was next and picked an “F” to make sure he got it right before correctly resolving it as “Superfood Smoothie.”

‘NO’ SUPERGOOD!”

Fans flooded social media with the classic wrong guess during Pat’s final week.

“Have you ever had a smoothie so good you could call it SUPER GOOD?” one user X joked.

“Nonie… did you think “super good” was a word?? Smdh,” wrote another.

“No, ‘SuperGOOD smoothie,’” wrote a third.

One more doubted the writing of the puzzle: “When did superfood become a word? Asking a friend.”

GO MISS PAT!

Others were just worried about Pat leaving so soon.

“Replacing a retired Pat Sajak on Wheel of Fortune with Ryan Seacrest is far worse than anything Jeopardy has ever done,” criticized another fan.

“It’s crazy that Pat Sajak’s last week and last day is Friday,” recalled another. “We used to watch it with Dad all the time while we had dinner. Now my husband and kids will watch it with me while we eat dinner.”

One more viewer joked: “Sorry boss, I can’t work, this is the last week Pat Sajak hosts Wheel of Fortune.”

An additional fan summed up the mood: “I’m going to miss @patsajak on @WheelofFortune! All the best to this very funny and talented presenter!”

Meanwhile, Allison went into the bonus round with the highest score of $14,400, choosing “Stuff” as her category.

She couldn’t solve the blank “Facts and Figures” puzzle, to which Pat made a classic joke: “You were so no to close!”

He revealed that she lost “only $40,000” but praised her super solution throughout the episode.

‘SURPRISINGLY OK’

Pat is now in his final week as host, with just two episodes left before he steps down.

On Monday, Pat explained why he chose to leave the show on Good Morning America.

Maggie Sajak, 29 – social media correspondent for Wheel of Fortune – interviewed her father about his retirement.

“It feels surprisingly good,” Pat said of his time on the show ending so soon.

“This was announced a long time ago, almost a year ago,” he noted.

“So I had time to get used to it.

“And it’s been a little dreary and all, but I’m enjoying it, taking it all in and reflecting on what a great run it was.”

Pat, who began hosting in 1981, recognized that the show means a lot to people.

Wheel of Fortune Host Timeline

Debuting in 1975, the beloved game show has had a few different iconic hosts over its nearly 50 seasons.

“We became part of popular culture. And most importantly, we become part of people’s lives,” he said. “And that has been very rewarding.”

Ryan Seacrest, 49, was chosen as Pat’s replacement last year, shortly after Pat announced he was leaving (fans are confused about the choice).

Pat stood by his decision in the recent and only interview.

“I’ve always told you, you’ve heard me say this dozens of times, ‘I’d rather leave a few years early than a few years late.’

“Can I still do this? Yes, I think I can for a while,” Pat told Maggie, 29.

“[But] There are also other things in life we would like to do,” Pat continued.

“I’m enjoying the past year. It’s been a wonderful 40 years. I’m looking forward to what’s to come,” he concluded.

Pat also shared that she would be happy living out her retirement, doing “crosswords and playing with her grandchildren.”

“Hint. Hint. Hint. No pressure,” he joked to Maggie, who laughed nervously.

In addition to Maggie, Pat shares his son, Patrick, with his wife, Lesly Brown.

Like his sister, Patrick has no children – but Maggie has recently started a romance with actor Ross McCall.

Pat will retire with the longest career hosting the same show in history, surpassing the previous record holder Bob Barker and Alex Trebek.

PAT’S LAST EPISODE

Pat’s final episode will air this Friday, June 7, 2024.

The host first announced his retirement in June 2023, following the end of season 41.

However, he filmed his final episode in April, so he’s already had some time off.

Pat’s farewell will likely not be an all-out tribute with memories through the years, but simply business as usual, with a goodbye at the end.

Throughout the week, Wheel opened episodes with some of its best throwback moments.

The episode will be a landmark on TV, as the presenter has been creating puzzles and prizes alongside Vanna since 1981 and 1982, respectively.

Vanna, Pat’s longtime puzzle-solving counterpart, will remain on the show for two years following her departure.

Vanna signed a contract extension to remain with the program through the 2025-2026 season.

The show airs weekdays at 7:30 pm ET on ABC, so fans can watch Pat’s farewell episode on June 7 at that time.

‘ONE WORD: RETIREMENT’

A source exclusively told The US Sun what the presenter plans to do after saying goodbye to the program.

“You can sum up Pat’s retirement plans in one word: Retirement,” the source said.

“In other words, although he has the appearance and energy of someone 25 years younger than he actually is, he has no plans to change and host another TV show.

“His consulting agreement with Sony is a very deliberate hedge against that.”

Pat will remain with the show for three years as a consulting producer.

“People hope he can help guide and advise the next generation of retired TV and streaming hosts, but he’s also been doing it quietly for years,” the source said.

“Especially since Alex Trebek’s passing, Pat is the guy you call if you’re hired to host a game show, and he’s full of encouragement and solid advice for anyone who asks.”

Ryan will take his place in the fall, in season 42 – premiere date to be announced.
