KEN Jennings is going viral because of an unexpected joke he made as Jeopardy! competitor, and it’s not the infamous hoe/rake answer.

The clip was from Ken’s historic 2004 season of 74 Days and posted by user X who didn’t even realize he’s now the host of the game show.

Ken, 50, was in the midst of his record-breaking winning streak on the same show he now hosts.

Apparently he was just as sarcastic then as he is now since taking over for the late Alex Trebek for good.

In the clip, a young Ken can be seen in the lead during one of his Jeopardy! games.

He got a Daily Double in the “Businessmen” category.

He bet just $1,000, explaining to the late, great host Alex, “I’m really crazy about the category.”

Alex said wryly: “Do you really not like businessmen?”

“I hate them all,” Ken replied.

“Come revelation, let’s tie them up.”

“Wow! Hello!” Alex could be heard responding, clearly surprised.

‘KING’

User X shared the clip and captioned it: “My king. I wonder how he is doing.”

The clip, shared over the weekend, has already been viewed 2 million times and received 50,000 likes.

“What do you mean ‘I wonder how he is’ he is the HOST,” one fan responded.

“Great considering they still handed the show over to him lmao,” wrote another.

“I can’t believe they didn’t stop this lmao,” wrote a third.

“He was so real in this,” wrote a fourth.

“Glad he ended up being the new host,” wrote a fifth.

The user shared another chestnut from Ken’s race, in which he joked while selecting a clue: “My dad’s a lawyer so we’ll take bloodsuckers for 400 please.”

This response once again scored a giant “Wow!” by Alex.

Before becoming host, Ken’s run brought him the still-standing record for longest run ever and biggest regular game win at $2.3 million.

Its turbulent moments may be getting new eyes as its entire season is streaming for free on PlutoTV.

COULD IT BE A JOKE?

Meanwhile, Ken is holding a pretty impressive audience these days.

Contestant Adriana Harmeyer won nine games and $202,000 on Monday, June 10.

During Adriana’s run, he drew attention by apparently making a reference to his fired co-host, Mayim Bialik.

During her seventh victory, Adriana managed an escape to Final Jeopardy with $18,800, while challengers Shira had $8,900 and Benjamin had $8,000.

The “US HISTORY” clue read “Challenged in court that same year, the 1925 Butler Act in Tennessee prohibited this activity and was not repealed until 1967.”

While Adriana was correct in “The teaching of evolution”, while Shira was incorrect in “What is drinking alcohol?”

Ken found Shira incorrect in a way he normally doesn’t, and that didn’t go unnoticed by astute viewers.

He told her: “Unfortunately, this is not correct.”

As fans have pointed out, this is exactly how Mayim would rule in Final Jeopardy (seen here), whether the shadow was on purpose or not.

“After Shira’s response to FJ was revealed, Ken brought back memories of Mayim saying, ‘Unfortunately, this is not correct,’ wrote one Redditor.

Another fan commented: ‘Wow! This is exactly what Mayim used to say on the show. I’m sure Ken knew exactly what he was saying.”

Adriana seeks her tenth victory in Tuesday night’s episode and now has her longest run in over a year.

Bye-ALIK

On December 15, 2023, Mayim Bialik broke the Internet when she announced that she was fired from Jeopardy! in person on Instagram.

She and Ken co-hosted the game show starting in 2022, leaving.

“As the Hollywood holidays begin, I have some Jeopardy! news,” she began her post.

“Sony has informed me that I will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy!”

Danger! cobbled together a similar message on Instagram an hour later and it was reported that Mayim broke the news without consulting the show first.

Danger! Host timeline

Danger! has had a tumultuous history regarding hosts following the death of the iconic Alex Trebek in 2020. Here are every host since the game show’s inception in 1964.

Art Fleming – from 1964 to 1975, he was the original host of the daytime version of Jeopardy! on NBC.

Alex Trebek – From 1984 to 2020, the late, great Alex hosted the modern iteration of Jeopardy! for 36 years until his death from pancreatic cancer.

Guest Hosts – 2020 to 2021, Jeopardy! tested a series of guest hosts for one- or two-week stints, including Anderson Cooper, LaVar Burton and Aaron Rodgers.

Mike Richards – 2021, he was named host for a week before resigning amid controversy. He was the show’s executive producer at the time.

Mayim Bialik – 2021 to 2023, when Mike was announced as the show’s new host, Mayim was chosen to host tournaments and primetime specials.

Mayim and Ken Jennings – 2022 to 2023, 74-time champion Ken (the winningest contestant of all time) joined Mayim as guest host and they shared hosting duties.

Ken Jennings – 2023 to present. Last December, Mayim announced on Instagram that she would “no longer” host Jeopardy! after a long hiatus, having defended the writers’ strike, and Ken was named sole host.

Ken now runs all editions of Jeopardy! including Celebrity Jeopardy!, the late night show and other primetime specials such as Masters.

In its statement, the show expressed that it “looked forward” to working with Mayim on specials and spinoffs in the future.

But the actress hasn’t shared any plans to return to the franchise — or vice versa — not even for Celebrity Jeopardy!.

Plus, Ken tended to be a fan favorite when the two stars were co-hosts.

Ken later said he “understood” the decision, as the shows “don’t have two hosts”.

Now, Ken runs every facet of Jeopardy! including specials and spinoffs.

Danger! airs at 7pm ET on ABC – check your local listings.
