DREW Carey criticized a contestant on The Price is Right, prompting fans to praise him for the hilarious moment.

The game show host put a player in his place after he bid just a dollar more than the person next to him – a common strategy for getting on the Price is Right stage.

After a contestant bid $1,700 on an item, the next player, Karen, proclaimed its value as $1,701.

She slowly declared her worth with wide eyes, then turned to the audience and appeared shocked by her own decision.

She also wore a shirt that said “The Original Karen,” in the classic game show font.

ONCE KAREN?

Karen, a slang term to describe a white woman considered bossy or demanding, is often associated with a short, shaggy blonde haircut.

Between the player’s hair, the exaggerated way she delivered her response, and the game’s sneaky movement, Drew had a few words to say after her turn at the microphone.

“Wow, you are the original Karen,” said the host.

The memorable moment was shared on the show’s Instagram account, along with the caption: “Her shirt said it all.”

In the comments, fans praised Drew, host of the show since 2007, for his hilarious return.

“Funniest thing he said on that show,” one person wrote.

“I love it when Drew starts laughing haha,” said a second.

“That was hilarious,” added a third.

“THE SHADOW OF EVERYTHING!” wrote a fourth.

“He sure put her in her place!” another exclaimed, while another person similarly wrote: “Put her in her place, Drew.”

The price is right, hosts

The Price is Right first appeared on TV in 1972. Fans fell in love with the game show so much that it has been on the air for over 50 years. Over that time, the show has had a few different hosts. Find out who they are below.

Bob Barker – 1972 to June 2007 (also became executive producer in 1988)

Drew Carey – October 2007 to present

Dennis James – replaced Bob in 1974 when he missed four episodes, also presented the nighttime version

Craig Ferguson – 2014 April Fools’ Day Special

ONE IN A MILLION

Some The Price is Right players have been known to make some questionable offers, specifically ones that made Drew surprised.

Last month, a contestant shocked the host by giving an answer so big it didn’t even fit on the board.

In the middle of one episode, Drew called a man named Nicholas from the audience to the podium.

He and three other people were asked to guess the price of a set of workout equipment, which included an exercise bike and a knee raise station.

Nicholas was the first to guess the price, telling the host, “I’m going to say $1 million.”

The audience was silent as Drew responded, “Really?”

“Yes, it looks like a good piece of equipment,” said Nicholas.

“We can put a million in there if you want,” Drew replied, implying that the player should change his answer.

Despite accepting the answer, the production was unable to place the $1 million bid on the podium screen because it was too large.

With the actual retail value being $1,798, Nicholas’s guess was far from accurate.

The other contestants’ guesses were $2,400, $1,250, and $1,500.

At home, viewers were upset with Nicholas for taking the place of another audience member who might have taken it more seriously.
