From The Edge observation deck at Hudson Yards, executive producer Michael Davies and producer Sarah Whitcomb-Foss announced their elusive Producer’s Choice to New York audiences.

The producers shared the big news and introduced Amy Schneider as the final contestant in the six-champion special.

Amy will compete against Jeopardy! Masters Season 1 champion James Holzhauer, returning competitors Matt Amodio and Mattea Roach and newcomers Yogesh Raut and Victoria Groce.

The beloved game show too announced your choice on your official Instagram account.

The short clip featured the full list with each of the six Masters competitors.

THE RETURN

However, fans seemed less than thrilled with Amy being the producer’s choice, after expecting Troy Meyer or Ben Chan to be potential candidates.

“Amy again?” one critic trolled.

“As much as I admire Amy, it’s a shame for the fans who didn’t want this year’s Masters to be a repeat of last year,” criticized another critic.

“Honestly tired of these groups continually appearing!” a third critic exploded.

“I love Amy, but this is so weird! This was supposed to be the final three from last year and the others will only return if they win the Jeopardy’s Invitational Tournament (which Amy could have done but didn’t). Many other good choices were ignored here !” a fourth person vented.

“For the record, as a huge fan of Amy, I’m not a huge fan of this choice. It’s a predictable choice and I just don’t know if her gameplay compares to the other five,” said one commentator. .

‘IT’S ABOVE ALL’

At the event, Davies expected interruptions from fans and joked: “I have to prepare for the Redditors.”

“So, first of all, it’s the producer’s choice, but it’s not just me. It’s all the producers,” Davies added, mentioning ABC and Sony.

“We have to recognize that there were several worthy people. But one person was above all others.”

“I have to believe they can get up on that stage at the Masters and beat everyone,” Davies added.

“Secondly, we are a TV show. We depend on the ratings.”

In addition to Amy’s “following” as a factor, Davies noted that Amy missed the 2023 Masters tournament and the recent Invitational tournament.

“I love a redemption story. I love someone who feels like, ‘Wow! I just didn’t do it.’” Davies continued.

“What a player. We see how well it handles tougher materials, which is very important in the Masters.”

“We see how good she is at the buzzer. So we are delighted to have Amy as the sixth choice,” concluded Davies.

Victoria Groce defeated Amy and Andrew He to win the final game of the Invitational special.
