FANS have criticized a Jeopardy contestant for making a strange hand gesture during the game.

On Wednesday night’s episode, players Drew Basile and Tekla Sauter gave 15-day champion Adriana Harmeyer a run for her money.

Unfortunately for Adriana, she lost her streak to Drew, who viewers may recognize from season 45 of Survivor.

At the end of the Double Jeopardy round, Drew was in the lead with $23,600, Telka was in second with $10,600 and Adriana was in $9,300.

In the end, Drew was the new champion.

However, fans noticed Drew continually pointing to the clues on the huge blue board during the first part of the game.

After the first commercial break, the former TV personality stopped the hand gesture, which convinced fans that producers told her to stop.

‘STOPPED SO ABRUPTLY’

Viewers shared their thoughts on a Reddit forum dedicated to the former US game show.

One person said they liked Drew: “He seems like an idiot.

“I wonder if they asked him to stop pointing out the clues after the first break.”

Another responded: “He stopped pointing so abruptly that I think they stopped recording before the first break to tell him to stop.”

“This was really bothering me for no good reason,” admitted a third.

“That was annoying,” someone agreed.

THE NEW JEP CHAMPION

In the last two years, no player has managed to last 15 games.

Adriana has earned a whopping $349,600 throughout her streak.

Although she returned in the Tournament of Champions, Adriana seemed disappointed with her defeat.

Danger! guest hosts

Since Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek died in November 2020, the beloved game show has continued with several guest hosts in 2021 to the present day:

As the camera focused on the three contestants, Drew shook Telka’s hand and turned to Adriana to shake hers.

However, she took a brief second to reach out her hand.

YOUR SURVIVOR TIME

During the segment where the contestants shared a fun fact about themselves, Drew talked about his time on Survivor.

When it was Drew's turn to choose the category, fans noticed him pointing at the blue board while his opponents Adriana and Telka Sauter kept their hands down.

“I lasted 23 out of 26 days without shelter or food, which took a bit of a toll on my mind, but I hope to be back on the Jeopardy path!”

Host Ken Jennings was curious about how being on Survivor compared to competing on Jeopardy.

“Survivor is hard on the body, but Jeopardy! It’s hard on the mind, so I’ll tell you later,” he joked.
