Vanna White ‘doesn’t see eye to eye’ with new host Ryan Seacrest and may ‘quit’ 2-year Wheel of Fortune contract

WHEEL of Fortune co-host Vanna White reportedly ‘doesn’t see eye to eye’ with her new co-host Ryan Seacrest following Pat Sajak’s retirement.

The game show’s longtime co-host is said to be considering leaving the show.

Vanna, 67, has been filming episodes of Wheel of Fortune with Ryan, 49, despite the show being on its annual summer break.

She and the American Idol host are said to be struggling with “mocking” to the point that she is considering quitting the show before their two-year relationship ends, according to The Daily Mail.

“Vanna will retire from the show when her contract ends, but there is a part of her that wants to leave early,” a source told the outlet.

“She just doesn’t play with Ryan like she did with Pat, and no one really expected her to do that.

Vanna is signed to Wheel of Fortune until 2026.

According to the source, “Vanna feels like she put in the time. She dedicated her entire life to this show and had an incredible journey while making her fortune.

“She knows the show needs to go in a different direction and appeal to a younger audience. She wants the show to continue.”

“It will require a younger host, someone who can be to Ryan what she was to Pat,” the source continued.

I DO NOT FEEL

Vanna isn’t the only one who doesn’t feel Ryan is the host.

The TV and radio personality was chosen to take Pat’s place long before the 77-year-old stopped hosting the show.

Wheel of Fortune recently teased Era Ryan on Instagram, releasing a video of him on set on June 18.

The promotional video marks the first time he has appeared on the game show’s social media account.

Pat and Vanna join him on stage, where the former host shows him around the set.

Wheel of Fortune Host Timeline

Although Pat and Vanna have been a fixture on the game show for decades, there have been other hosts

Chuck Woolery was the host from 1975 to 1981

He co-hosted alongside Susan Stafford (1975 to 1982)

Vanna White took over as host in 1982 and has been since then.

After a contract and salary dispute, the show got rid of Chuck and brought back Pat in 1982.

Pat hosted Susan for a season

He then left the game show in 1989 to host a late-night talk show for CBS.

For five months, NFL player Rolf Benirschke took his place

In July 1989, Bob Goen hosted the show on CBS

He hosted for a year and a half until the show was canceled in 1991

The show was then moved to ABC, with Pat and Vanna hosting for the foreseeable future.

In 2023, Pat announced his retirement and Ryan Seacrest was quickly named his replacement

The ad aired discreetly on local TV stations the week before.

“Get ready for MORE money, MORE prizes and lots of NEW fun! Who’s ready for a new season of Wheel?!” the caption read.

In the comments, fans expressed doubts about Ryan’s ability to host the show.

“I’M NOT WATCHING!!!! Couldn’t you find someone better than Ryan?!?!” one person commented.

“No. Just no. He’s everywhere. I’m tired of him,” wrote another.

“I should have found someone for the long term. Ryan is not a long term kind of person,” a third person posted.

“I’m not sure Seacrest is the right guy for the job!” he wrote a fourth.

“Couldn’t you have found someone better than that?” asked another.

“I just don’t see Ryan doing this for 30-40 years. He’s hosted other things and moves on. We’ll see how things go, but WOF should have looked for another host that could be long term,” wrote one more.

HERE HE COMES

The official promotional video starts with the puzzle board saying “THIS FALL”.

Then, Ryan, Vanna and Pat appeared on stage as Pat handed the show over to Ryan.

“Well, that’s it, Ryan. What do you think?” asked Pat, pointing to the well-known set.

“Impressive!” Ryan replied.

Ryan’s face appeared on the screen and the text read: “Ryan getting ready to take the wheel.”

“Ryan, I think the contestants are going to love you,” Vanna told him.

“I think what you’ll enjoy most is meeting the players and getting to know the home crowd,” Pat said.

“It’s part of people’s lives,” Ryan responded.

“People love this show,” Pat agreed, nodding at Vanna.

“You two make everything look so easy,” Ryan said emotionally.

“You will never find a better job and you will never find a better co-host,” Pat said.

The promotional video ended with Pat walking away as Vanna posed with her new fall co-host.

“Ryan Seacrest joins Vanna White this fall,” the caption read.

Pat’s final episode aired on June 7.
