Maria Fitzsimons and Jill Slattery signed up to appear on The Price is Right in 2013.

Although they didn’t appear on the show, Maria revealed the do’s and don’ts of her outfit choices.

Unlike Let’s Make a Deal, no costumes are allowed in The Price is Right.

No advertisements or logos are allowed on clothing or hats unless they are related to the program.

The Price is Right suggests not wearing white clothing as it will not show up well on screen.

Jeans are allowed, as are accessories such as headbands or hats, but the accessories cannot be separated from the person’s wardrobe.

The studio is kept cool, so it is advisable to wear a jacket or sweater.

“A lot of people had handmade shirts, like themed shirts like ‘I Love Price’s Right’ or something related to the show,” Maria told The US Sun.

Producers can deny entry to anyone who doesn’t meet the guidelines, especially since everyone will be on camera at some point during the recording.

WHAT THEY USED

Maria decided to wear a red Saber Tooth Tiger shirt with black jeans and a black leather jacket.

However, she took off her jacket when she appeared on TV.

Jill wore a black T-shirt with Pacman printed on it.

She had embellished rainbow suspenders attached to black pants.

Jill wore flip-flops and Maria wore canvas espadrilles.

The price is right, hosts

The Price is Right first appeared on TV in 1972. Fans fell in love with the game show so much that it has been on the air for over 50 years. Over that time, the show has had a few different hosts. Find out who they are below.

Bob Barker – 1972 to June 2007 (also became executive producer in 1988)

Drew Carey – October 2007 to present

Dennis James – replaced Bob in 1974 when he missed four episodes, also presented the nighttime version

Craig Ferguson – 2014 April Fools’ Day Special

No rules were given about what kind of shoes to wear.

Both adhered to the dress code, but have not yet been chosen to spin the wheel.

CHOOSE WISELY

Maria believes that what a contestant wears affects whether they will be chosen to spin the wheel or not.

However, she also said that the producers interview everyone in advance and select them.

“Yes, I would say yes,” she shared.

“Recently, there was a guy who wore a Bob Barker shirt. And Drew pretended to be offended, but he wasn’t.”

Maria shared that this was all an act after seeing how Drew acted on set.

The contestant wore a Bob Barker shirt for Drew’s birthday.

He hosted the game show from 1972 to 2007.

They tried to stop the show early while Drew pretended to be offended by the words “Future legendary host Drew Carey” on the back of his shirt.

But Drew continued with Jeffrey’s game and told him what he could win.

The Price is Right is filmed in California and airs weekdays on CBS at 11am EST.
