Contestant Michelle and three others went head to head to try and guess the correct price for a fancy fridge on Thursday night.

The Price is Right contestant was the last to give in her bid, guessing $2,401 – just $1 more than the third bidder’s entry.

When host Drew Carey revealed that “the real price is $2,699,” Michelle rushed to celebrate her win before realizing she wasn’t the closest to the guess.

After realizing her mistake, Michelle returned to the podium while John, who guessed $2,512, took his place next to Drew.

Regardless of his defeat, the ecstatic participant gave John a high five for his winning answer.

SECRETS OF THE SHOW

Although fans see moments like Michelle’s happen so often, a former contestant revealed secrets about the famous game show.

In an exclusive interview with The US Sun, Maria Fitzsimons and her friend Jill Slattery attended the show in 2013.

She shared that each contestant must be interviewed in advance.

“The producers go deep down, look you straight in the eye and ask questions,” Maria revealed.

She went on to say that the process took about an hour to complete “before we arrived at the building.”

Maria also shared that the contestants are not chosen at random.

“Nothing is by chance. Everyone gets interviewed and chooses these interviews,” she revealed.

“They make it seem random, but it’s not. And I think that’s why the show did so well.”

Bob Barker – 1972 to June 2007 (also became executive producer in 1988)

Craig Ferguson – 2014 April Fools’ Day Special

“I just show up, clock in and hope to have a job every day,” he said.

“I have a goal: I want to continue until I die.

“This is my 18th season. I need to get 35 and 41 so I can get Bob Barker and Pat Sajak.”

He went on to say that if he wanted to go, it would be his choice.

“It’s a huge part of my day, my year, my life. I can’t imagine giving this up.

“I don’t like CBS knowing this, but it will be a few years before my next contract negotiation.

“I can quit whenever I want!”
