OLD Danger! champion Drew Basil has hinted that he could return to the podium at the Tournament of Champions after ending his impressive winning streak.

The Survivor alum had his sights set on his eighth victory on Friday, but fell short on Final Jeopardy! round.

Now, Drew, 22, is opening up about his upset and plans to return to the game show.

“The race has come to an end, so it’s a little less exciting now,” said the TV star Weekly entertainment.

“But I can play again, so I’ve already overcome the defeat calmly. I’m excited to be back on the Alex Trebek stage at some point in the near future,” Drew added, mentioning the legendary host, who died in November 2020, before Ken Jennings, 50, took over.

Drew qualified for the ToC following his resounding seven-day victory, which he said came to an end for an understandable reason.

NOT IN HIS GAME

He noted that he was “tired” at the end of each day of recording, which led to him making mistakes in the previous two rounds.

“The amazing thing about Final Jeopardy is that I knew the answer. I knew it was Helen Keller and I was so exhausted I couldn’t remember her name,” Drew admitted.

“I knew I got it wrong. I was so tired I couldn’t remember Helen Keller’s name. It comes down to a little youth.

The reality star continued: “It comes down to inexperience. And I hope that with a little more practice, this will be a correctable error.”

Drew lost to Jeopardy! newcomer Cat Pisacano, who also defeated his other opponent, Andrew Fox.

Fans predicted that exhaustion was a major factor in Drew’s defeat after being in the lead during Double Jeopardy!

“I suspect Drew was just tired,” one person wrote in a Jeopardy! dedicated thread online.

“Seemed like the long day of filming took its toll on him,” echoed another.

“I’m the only one who thought [the Final Jeopardy] was the easiest question, and he was completely SHOCKED that Drew didn’t notice??” asked a third.

Danger! Host timeline

Danger! has had a tumultuous history regarding hosts following the death of the iconic Alex Trebek in 2020. Here are every host since the game show’s inception in 1964.

Art Fleming – from 1964 to 1975, he was the original host of the daytime version of Jeopardy! on NBC.

Alex Trebek – From 1984 to 2020, the late, great Alex hosted the modern iteration of Jeopardy! for 36 years until his death from pancreatic cancer.

Guest Hosts – 2020 to 2021, Jeopardy! tested a series of guest hosts for one- or two-week stints, including Anderson Cooper, LaVar Burton and Aaron Rodgers.

Mike Richards – 2021, he was named host for a week before resigning amid controversy. He was the show’s executive producer at the time.

Mayim Bialik – 2021 to 2023, when Mike was announced as the show’s new host, Mayim was chosen to host tournaments and primetime specials.

Mayim and Ken Jennings – 2022 to 2023, 74-time champion Ken (the winningest contestant of all time) joined Mayim as guest host and they shared hosting duties.

Ken Jennings – 2023 to present. Last December, Mayim announced on Instagram that she would “no longer” host Jeopardy! after a long hiatus, having defended the writers’ strike, and Ken was named sole host.

Ken now runs all editions of Jeopardy! including Celebrity Jeopardy!, the late night show and other primetime specials such as Masters.

“I was shocked by his play the whole game,” a fourth added.

Others were equally disappointed with the outcome of the game as they rooted for the Pennsylvania native to secure another victory.

Drew walked away with $129,601 and became the clear choice for the show’s ToC, which will see some of the game show’s former champions compete once again.

The date for the ToC has not yet been announced, with the last showing in March.

Before Drew, fans were in love with Adriana Harmeyer, 34, who snapped her 15-day losing streak to the college student.

For weeks, Adriana was the only one to win until Drew ended her run during the June 19 episode.

Despite the loss, Adriana walked away with almost $350,000 and the 11th longest winning streak in the show’s history.
