Price is Right contestant David, a barber from Pasadena, California, bid closest to the actual retail price of a sewing and crafts collection.

David was brought to the stage after guessing $950, the closest of the four contestants to the collection’s $1,415 price.

The excited player ran up to Drew, 66, who greeted him enthusiastically.

“Hey man, good to see you! Welcome to the show,” the game show host announced as David shook his hand.

The player replied: “Thank you very much”, before revealing that he worked as a barber.

Still on the subject, David asked: ‘I was wondering when are you going to grow your beard again?’ when referencing his long facial hair.

“Oh, I don’t know. I’m just tired of it,” Drew replied as he rubbed his bare chin.

“That sounds good,” David replied, referring to the host’s soul patch.

The compliments continued as Drew responded, “Your beard looks great, man,” before moving on to the game That’s awesome.

MAKING CAREY-D AWAY

Earlier this week, a Price is Right contestant suffered an on-air wardrobe malfunction.

Competitor Zaniya was given the chance to play Time is Money after guessing the closest real price for a Nordic Track exercise bike.

Last but certainly not least, The Price Is Right contestant estimated the gym equipment cost $1,700 – the highest bid among the four eager players.

When Drew revealed the “real retail price” of $2,079, Zaniya began jumping up and down excitedly and shouting “It’s me!” when his podium lit up and began to play.

In her excitement, Zaniya’s badge flew off and without realizing it, she ran onto the stage, leaving him behind, while screaming at the top of her lungs.

One of the players who was still behind the podium took the badge and handed it to Zaniya.

While still screaming, the player accepted his tag, waving it briefly, before running to join Drew on stage.

Once there, Zaniya held up her badge for the camera and studio audience to see, as the show’s host assured her he wouldn’t forget her name.

“I won’t forget your name. We’ll give you another badge later as a souvenir,” Drew said.

IT’S THE ALCOHOL’S BLAME

Drew revealed that Price is Right contestants often arrive smelling of alcohol, during an exclusive interview with TV insider.

“Oh, it happens here all the time,” Drew said.

The price is right, hosts

The Price Is Right debuted on TV in 1972. Fans fell in love with the game show so much that it has been on the air for over 50 years. Over that time, the show has had a few different hosts. Find out who they are below.

Bob Barker – 1972 to June 2007 (also became executive producer in 1988)

Drew Carey – October 2007 to present

Dennis James – replaced Bob in 1974 when he missed four episodes and also presented the nighttime version

Craig Ferguson – 2014 April Fools’ Day Special

“They’ll eat a gum or I’ll smell alcohol on their breath. It’s not uncommon. There was a guy here who was tripping over mushrooms.”

Drew took over The Price is Right when the show’s original host, Bob Barker, retired.

Although Drew maintained the same energy and ease with the contestants, he admitted that he never saw himself in that role.

In fact, he admitted that he used to “despise” game show hosts.

But after hosting one for more than 10 years, Drew said the host’s job is a lot of “fun.”

With the anniversary of Barker’s death approaching, Drew said he wants to do everything he can to keep the show running and entertaining.

“And I want to be a good steward of the show, so I don’t mess up and screw it up from the beginning,” he said.

“I just wanted to make sure it was always on.”
