DANGER! contestant Alison Betts notched her third consecutive win on Monday’s episode after a rare on-air snag from host Ken Jennings.

Alison defeated Adam Sieff and Joshua Beckett, winning a combined total of $97,500 and many adoring fans.

The writer and creative executive originally from San Jose, California came out with a big lead once again.

However, in the middle of Jeopardy! round, things hit a snag in a $400 video clue in “Places That Are Also First Names.”

The footage showed an Italian monument in a town square, and Ken, 49, read: “A bust of the fight-loving Rensissance goldsmith Benvenuto Cellini graces the Ponte Vecchio in this city.”

Alison replied “What is Venice?” and Ken thought it correct: “That’s the city.”

Alison started to choose the next clue, “Mix for…” while Ken interrupted her.

‘NOT CORRECT, NOT CORRECT’

“I’m sorry, that’s not right – that’s not right,” he shouted in confusion.

His opponent, Joshua, then intervened with “Florence”, which was actually the correct answer.

From there, Alison finished the round with $10,000 after winning the first Daily Double, Joshua $6,800 and Adam $0.

On Double Jeopardy, Alison blew it, hitting the two remaining Daily Doubles for $5,000 each, giving her an escape with $26,800, while Joshua had $8,400 and Adam had $4,800.

The final line in “GREAT BRITS” read: “From 1689 to 1690 and from 1701 to 1702 he served as a Member of Parliament representing the Cambridge University constituency.”

Alison and Joshua guessed “Newton”, and Alison added $9,000 to win with $35,800 and a stunning three-day total.

Ken gushed over her “impressive” score and how she was already “hitting the $100,000 club.”

‘GREAT COMPETITOR!’

Fans took to Reddit, impressed with Alison’s performance, while others were surprised by Ken’s gaffe and that it wasn’t edited out.

“Damn! Allison was VERY close to the elusive $100k in 3 days,” one fan commented.

“Alison is a great competitor. She’s sharp, has a great TV personality, is incredibly likable, and plays with good strategy without going full Holzhauer. I hope she sticks around for a while,” wrote another.

“Yes, Alison!! Keep going!!” wrote a third.

“Alison is a powerhouse but I can’t believe NOBODY got the Grateful Dead clue,” wrote a fourth.

A fifth fan wrote: “A rare mistake from Ken! I wonder why he said Venice was correct initially?”

“Ooh, Ken made a mistake. I think he’s fallible,” joked another.

Another fan noted that being a little more aggressive in Daily Doubles wouldn’t hurt: “Alison is obviously a very strong player, but I have a hard time seeing her having a long streak due to her small DD bets. She needs to bet bigger, leaving behind an almost insignificant amount.”

One more admitted: “As many have said, Alison is an excellent player, but someone needs to let her know that it’s okay not to care when she doesn’t know the answer,” with a crying-laughing emoji.

“Alison seems to get better every game! I can see her going far”, concluded another.

I BET SHE’S STAYING HERE!

Last week brought the long-awaited return to regular gaming after a barrage of Jeopardy! tournaments and the first consecutive of the season in Alison.

Alison is a mother of two, has a degree in Film and Media Studies from Arizona State University, and is now a full-time writer.

She developed and wrote film pilot scripts and also served as chief speechwriter and communications director for a U.S. Senate campaign.

During her first win last Thursday, she told a story about once sharing a “passionate” kiss with a crocodile.

During her second victory, she said that her family is frequented by the neighbor’s cat, Ninja, who she considered a stray and started calling “Cookie”.

Tonight, the laughs continued when Alison revealed that her husband has surpassed her at air hockey, except in “international waters”.

Alison was previously on The Bull**T Game Show Hosted by Howie Mandel in 2022, where she won $250,000, proving she’s no stranger to fierce competition.

Alison will face two new challengers tomorrow night to see if she can punch her ticket to the 2025 Tournament of Champions.

MEET YOUR 2024 MASTERS

Meanwhile, Jeopardy! Masters will return for Season 2 in just a few weeks, premiering on May 1, 2024.

The six highest-ranked contestants will face off on ABC primetime, competing in two games per hour-long episode.

The showdown will feature Masters Season 1 champion James Holzhauer, returning competitors Matt Amodio and Mattea Roach, and newcomers Yogesh Raut and Victoria Groce.

The sixth and final contestant was the mysterious Producer’s Choice, who on Friday was revealed to be Amy Schneider.

Amy’s addition was announced on the show Inside Jeopardy! event at Hudson Yards in New York, which was attended by The US Sun.

Both at the event and immediately afterwards online, the decision generated a lukewarm reaction from fans.

Amy recently and decisively lost Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament for Groce, only for both to advance to the Masters anyway.

This also means that Masters 2024 will only have two debutants (JIT winner Groce and 2024 ToC winner Yogesh) instead of three.

“How do you have a tournament that eliminates people from the masters, but still chooses them…” one fan reacted to the news.

“For the record, as a huge Amy fan… I’m not a huge fan of this pick. It’s a predictable pick and I just don’t know if her gameplay will compare to the other five,” wrote another.

The Masters grand prize is $500,000, a flashy trophy and the title of Jeopardy! Master Champion.

Regardless, The Queen of The Chase has everyone excited after her big JIT win earlier this month, and fans think she could even dethrone James.

The clash comes as they co-star on ABC’s sister show as experts.

But fear not, show the traditionalists, as the Masters will not interfere with the regular episodes.

The regular show with new contestants continues in syndication until the end of season 40 in July.

Danger! airs at 7pm ET on ABC – check your local listings.
