THE PRICE is Right host Drew Carey was mocked by a contestant for being a ‘talk show host’.
A gamer named Lillian was selected for a showcase on the long-running game show, accumulating money as she played.
The third-year doctoral student was selected to play a game in which she was presented with items and had to guess whether the price was higher or lower than what was shown.
She played the game with ease, which Drew, 66, attributed to her upbringing.
“We might as well not continue, but… OK, OK. You have a doctorate,” the Price is Right host said.
“I was expelled from college twice. What’s the opposite of a PhD?”
Lillian quickly responded, “A talk show host.”
Drew almost fell over laughing.
“You know what? I’m not smart enough to be a talk show host,” he replied, still nervous.
The audience and Lillian laughed together.
BIG CHANGE
Drew has undergone a drastic change in her appearance recently.
He lost about 80 pounds and recently made another change to his appearance.
The actor took the stage during a June 29 episode of The Price Is Right without a beard.
During the show, contestant David – a barber from Pasadena, California, comes closest to the actual retail price of a sewing and crafts collection.
David was brought to the stage after guessing $950.
The price is right, hosts

The Price is Right first appeared on TV in 1972. Fans fell in love with the game show so much that it has been on the air for over 50 years. Over that time, the show has had a few different hosts. Find out who they are below.
Bob Barker – 1972 to June 2007 (also became executive producer in 1988)
Drew Carey – October 2007 to present
Dennis James – replaced Bob in 1974 when he missed four episodes, also presented the nighttime version
Craig Ferguson – 2014 April Fools’ Day Special
He ran up to Drew, who greeted him enthusiastically.
“What’s up, man? Nice to see you! Welcome to the show,” he said, shaking David’s hand.
The player replied: “Thank you very much”, before revealing his career.
Still on topic, David asked: “I was wondering when are you going to grow your beard again?”
“Oh, I don’t know. I’m just tired of it,” Drew replied, rubbing his bare chin.
“That sounds good,” David replied, referring to Drew’s soul patch.
The compliments continued as Drew responded, “Your beard looks great, man,” before engaging in a game called That’s Awesome.
CABINET MALFUNCTION
Earlier that same week, a Price is Right contestant suffered a major wardrobe malfunction on the show.
Player Zaniya got the chance to play Time is Money after guessing the closest real price for a Nordic Track exercise bike.
She estimated the gym equipment cost $1,700, the highest bid among the four players.
When Drew revealed the “real retail price” of $2,079, Zaniya began jumping up and down excitedly, shouting, “That’s me!” as his podium lit up and began to play.
In her excitement, Zaniya’s badge flew off and without realizing it, she ran onto the stage, leaving him behind as she screamed.
One of the players who was still behind the podium took the badge and handed it to Zaniya.
While still screaming, the player accepted his tag, briefly waving it in the air before running towards Drew.
Once there, Zaniya held up her badge for the camera and audience to see as Drew assured her he wouldn’t forget her name.
“I won’t forget your name. Later we will give you another badge as a souvenir,” he said.
