Josh played against Isaac Hirsch and Christine Roberts in the most recent episode.

During Double Jeopardy!, Josh and Isaac were competing for first place, as Josh was only $2,000 behind Isaac.

He was on a roll, answering two questions, including a Daily Double, correctly.

However, when Josh chose the “Pacific Islands” category for $2,000, he hesitated because he wasn’t so sure of the answer.

“In October 1790, Thursday in October, Christian was born on this island,” the clue read.

Neither Josh, nor Isaac, nor Christine showed up.

Host Ken Jennings informed the players that the answer was “Pitcairn Island.”

Going into the final clue, Isaac had $21,200, Josh’s total was $14,400, and Christine had $6,400.

Isaac won after answering Final Jeopardy! question correctly.

WHAT IS REPENTANCE?

After the show aired on Thursday, fans discussed the issue in a Reddit thread.

Josh joined the discussion and explained the only regret he had.

“What a fun experience! Congratulations to Isaac on a game well played. And to Christine too. Isaac is a very strong player. I wish him the best in his next game(s)!” he started.

“The only regret I have is not calling the Pitcairn Island track.”

“I saw the word Christian and my mind went to an island associated with Christians. If I had connected with Fletcher Christian, I would have understood, as I read a lot about Pitcairn and the Bounty,” Josh continued.

Danger! host timeline

Danger! has had a tumultuous history regarding hosts following the death of the iconic Alex Trebek in 2020. Here are every host since the game show’s inception in 1964.

Art Fleming – from 1964 to 1975, he was the original host of the daytime version of Jeopardy! on NBC.

Alex Trebek – From 1984 to 2020, the late, great Alex hosted the modern iteration of Jeopardy! for 36 years until his death from pancreatic cancer.

Guest Hosts – 2020 to 2021, Jeopardy! tested a series of guest hosts for one- or two-week stints, including Anderson Cooper, LaVar Burton and Aaron Rodgers.

Mike Richards – 2021, he was named host for a week before resigning amid controversy. He was the show’s executive producer at the time.

Mayim Bialik – 2021 to 2023, when Mike was announced as the show’s new host, Mayim was chosen to host tournaments and primetime specials.

Mayim and Ken Jennings – 2022 to 2023, 74-time champion Ken (the winningest contestant of all time) joined Mayim as guest host and they shared hosting duties.

Ken Jennings – 2023 to present. Last December, Mayim announced on Instagram that she would “no longer” host Jeopardy! After a long hiatus, having defended the writers’ strike, Ken was named sole host.

Ken now runs all editions of Jeopardy! including Celebrity Jeopardy!, the late night show and other primetime specials such as Masters.

“Not that it would have affected the outcome, but that’s what escaped me.”

Fans responded to Josh on Reddit and said they hope he’s back for the second chance tournament.

He responded that he would “love to have the chance to play again.”

POWER PLAYER?

Isaac also participated in the game show The Chase, in 2023.

He won $140,000 on the ABC show, defeating Chaser and nine-day Jeopardy! champion Buzzy Cohen.

Isaac also participated in the program Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2017, winning $5,000 after answering the $20,000 question incorrectly.

During his two-game Jeopardy! winning streak, Isaac answered 55 clues correctly and got eight wrong.

He will compete again tonight against two new players.

Danger! airs at 7pm ET – check your local listings.
