WRONG PRICE
Before the season finale of The Price is Right, the final week was filled with a lot of confusion and crazy moments.
On Friday’s show, a contestant realized he didn’t win after jumping up and down to celebrate.
Charles thought he had won the showcase when the crowd cheered for him.
He and Timothy went to Showcase and bid on various items, including trips, cars, poker games and more.
Timothy offered $30,030 for a poker table, trips to New Orleans and Louisiana, and a car.
The actual price of the Showcase was $37,807, which put Timothy down $7,777.
The price is right, hosts
The Price is Right first appeared on TV in 1972. Fans fell in love with the game show so much that it has been on the air for over 50 years. Over that time, the show has had a few different hosts. Find out who they are below.
Bob Barker – 1972 to June 2007 (also became executive producer in 1988)
Drew Carey – October 2007 to present
Dennis James – replaced Bob in 1974 when he missed four episodes, also presented the nighttime version
Craig Ferguson – 2014 April Fools’ Day Special
Charles’ showcase featured a boat, a home bar and trips to Thailand and Croatia.
He bid $24,500, but the real price was $35,626.
This put Charles $11,126 below the actual price.
Timothy was the winner, but Charles jumped and seemed excited because a man in the crowd applauded when Drew read his price.
Charles was expelled when he realized that Timothy actually won.
RIGHT CHOICE!
During season 52, Drew had a new experience on the show.
At the beginning of Thursday’s 4th of July episode, a special buzzer rang after four players guessed the price of a barbecue grill.
Joseph placed a $2,000 bet, and the final guesser, Vintanya, bet a dollar less, $1,999.
Both Drew and Vintanya were equally shocked when he revealed that the price of the grill was exactly her bid.
As the player ran to the stage, Drew made a confession about his time on the show.
“Can I just say my entire career here at Price has been right…you’re the first one to drop a dollar and get the exact offer,” Drew said.
He then handed Vintanya $500 for guessing the exact amount, which was just the beginning of his success on The Price is Right.
The player also won a brand new Buick SUV after playing the Cover Up game.
