Isaac revealed on Jeopardy! last week he did stand-up, and it didn’t take long for fans to find his groove.

A clip of him doing a tight five at the Flapper comedy club in Los Angeles in 2017 circulated on Facebook over the weekend.

At the clipIsaac’s dry humor was on full display as he opened with, “Hi, I’m too skinny,” earning a pause of applause.

“I’m six feet tall and weigh 120 kilos. That’s not what bodies are supposed to do,” he joked.

Isaac looked much thinner than he did on Jeopardy! and he also wore more rectangular glasses and still didn’t have his characteristic mustache.

“People think it’s better to be as thin as me than to be fat,” one excerpt read.

“But here’s one thing fat people can do: pretend they were good at sports.”

“I can’t say, ‘I was a basketball star in high school!’ People would say, ‘Yes, you must have been very good before the famine hit your village.’

Isaac also joked about being a Hollywood extra: “One downside is that Hollywood will tell you exactly what you look like.”

“I was recently put in the ‘weird boy on the bus’ category.”

“Which means a casting director said, ‘I need some weird kids for this bus,’ looked at my picture and said, ‘That’s the one.'”

Isaac also recalled booking a show where he played someone in a wheelchair, and other cast members told him, “You’re doing a great job!”

At first, he remembers thinking, “Wow, what a friendly group!”

The audience laughed when he explained, “I discovered what you already discovered.”

“They thought I was in a wheelchair and couldn’t get up for the rest of the day.”

NO NOTES!

The clip was shared on a Jeopardy! Facebook group where a user captioned it: “I knew he was funny (as well as smart)!”

“That’s amazing and he’s hilarious!” one fan responded.

“I love him, very funny!” wrote another.

“Very cool! I thought he made some very intelligent and humorous comments…” wrote a third.

ISAAC AT THE AWARD

Isaac arrived on Wednesday, July 3, and has been the defending champion ever since.

Isaac now boasts the longest winning streak of the past year, behind only the 15-day champion Adriana Harmeyer.

He scored 226, 35 incorrect on clues overall, 11/15 on Daily Doubles, and 6/8 on Final Jeopardy – all excellent stats.

Danger! champion Isaac Hirsch recalls ‘brutal’ stand-up show as Ken Jennings loses his composure in nail-biter’s 8th win

“Well… I think Isaac might be here for a while,” one Redditor recently wrote.

“Isaac finished the week very strong, placing over 20,000 Coryat today: 22,800. He’s going to be hard to beat in TOC,” noted another.

Other fans have speculated that Isaac may be the favorite for the upcoming Tournament of Champions.

So far, the other qualifiers are Survivor alum Drew Basile (7 wins), Adriana (15 wins), Alison Betts (5 wins), Dr. Amy Hummel (5 wins), and Celebrity Jeopardy’s Lisa Ann Walter !

With four wins, Grant DeYoung and Amar Kakirde are also likely to participate – the annual $250,000 tournament will be in early 2025.

Isaac will be looking for his ninth win tonight against two new opponents, which would put him one win away from being a super champion.

STAND-UP GUY

Isaac won over fans with his hilarious Q&A stories – no surprise given his hustle.

During his eighth win, he finally revealed he was a comedian, recalling a “brutal” gig that involved performing with a malfunctioning microphone on a minor league baseball field for Ken Jennings.

During his fourth win, he recalled a recent fitness journey that left his figure “exactly the same” after “bulking up and gaining 30 pounds.”

During his third win, he shared that not himself, but his car had a cameo on the TV show Brooklyn 99.

During his second victory, he drew laughs when he recalled how “ironically” he was crowned high school homecoming king.

“Protect Isaac at all costs as he is so effortlessly funny,” one Instagram user recently praised.

“I don’t remember any contestant having so many funny and/or charming jokes,” wrote another.

DRESS FOR SUCCESS

The champion also turned heads with his eye-catching wardrobe choices that deliver 70s menswear.

“That current champion looks like a 70s porn star,” one Facebook user recently scoffed.

“I think Isaac arrived at Studio 54 after recording that show,” scoffed another.

In an Instagram post, Isaac dismissed his fashion haters, writing: “The Internet is divided on my love for 70s menswear.

“Good news for the haters: I’m almost out of wardrobe-approved vintage shirts. So if I keep winning, the attacks will get a lot more subdued.”

In fact, since then, Isaac has run out of wardrobe-approved ’70s outfits, but he hasn’t lost his steam.

‘FATHER WAS IN DANGER! – AND LOST’

Isaac appeared during his first victory with a Q&A story revealing that his father appeared on Jeopardy! – and lost – 30 years ago.

“My dad was on Jeopardy! in the 80s and one of the first years Alex hosted, and he lost,” Isaac said.

“I used to tease him about it as a kid. Like ‘I Lost On Jeopardy!’ from Weird Al, being like, ‘It’s about you, dad!’”

Ken started laughing as Isaac concluded, “So today we’re going to find out how real karma is.”

Danger! shared a video of the story on Instagram, and Isaac’s father, Steven, chimed in in the comments section, demanding a second chance.

Danger! Host timeline

Danger! has had a tumultuous history regarding hosts following the death of the iconic Alex Trebek in 2020. Here are every host since the game show’s inception in 1964.

Art Fleming – from 1964 to 1975, he was the original host of the daytime version of Jeopardy! on NBC.

Alex Trebek – From 1984 to 2020, the late, great Alex hosted the modern iteration of Jeopardy! for 36 years until his death from pancreatic cancer.

Guest Hosts – 2020 to 2021, Jeopardy! tested a series of guest hosts for one- or two-week stints, including Anderson Cooper, LaVar Burton and Aaron Rodgers.

Mike Richards – 2021, he was named host for a week before resigning amid controversy. He was the show’s executive producer at the time.

Mayim Bialik – 2021 to 2023, when Mike was announced as the show’s new host, Mayim was chosen to host tournaments and primetime specials.

Mayim and Ken Jennings – 2022 to 2023, 74-time champion Ken (the winningest contestant of all time) joined Mayim as guest host and they shared hosting duties.

Ken Jennings – 2023 to present. Last December, Mayim announced on Instagram that she would “no longer” host Jeopardy! after a long hiatus, having defended the writers’ strike, and Ken was named sole host.

Ken now runs all editions of Jeopardy! including Celebrity Jeopardy!, the late night show and other primetime specials such as Masters.

“If Ken Jennings keeps mentioning that I lost on Jeopardy, I want another chance! Bring me back for another chance to win!” Steve wrote.

Danger! airs at 7pm ET – check your local listings.
