DANGER! champ Isaac Hirsch revealed his impression of an A-list actor in the most recent episode.
Host Ken Jennings was impressed and said it captures the actor’s “raw sexual energy.”
During Jeopardy! presentations on Friday night, a celebrity stood behind the podium for a few seconds.
“Isaac Hirsch returned with us from Burbank, where he leads the customer support team,” said Ken, 50.
“And I understand a former Jeff Goldblum impersonator.”
Isaac explained that there is a group in Baltimore, Maryland that does water ballet.
“Sort of in the style of the old Ethel Merman movies in public swimming pools,” he said.
“They did a scene from the life of Jeff Goldblum and cast me to play Jeff Goldblum, like in the interstitials between the ballet pieces.”
Ken joked that Isaac is like an “aquatic Jeff Goldblum.”
“I’m not graceful and I can’t swim very well, so I literally come in the middle and do ‘The Fly’ or something like that and just do a fly thing,” Isaac said.
“But yeah, I can’t hope to capture the raw, weird sexual energy that Jeff Goldblum has.”
“Well, I don’t want to say too much, but you’re getting pretty close now, Isaac,” Ken told him.
Danger! champ Isaac Hirsch jokes he’s the ‘weird kid’ in a raucous old stand-up clip as fans scream, ‘love him!’
Isaac looked at the camera and raised an eyebrow with a mischievous smile before they returned to the game.
Jeff, 71, is best known for his roles in The Fly, Jurassic Park, the upcoming adaptation of Wicked and more.
‘BEST OF BOTH WORLDS!’
Reddit users flocked to the platform to comment on how much they love Isaac.
“Isaac has quickly made my way onto my list of favorite Jeopardy contestants. He has the best of both worlds: strong, smart gameplay and some of the funniest joke sections ever! Go, Isaac!” one fan said.
Danger! Host timeline
Danger! has had a tumultuous history regarding hosts following the death of the iconic Alex Trebek in 2020. Here are every host since the game show’s inception in 1964.
Art Fleming – from 1964 to 1975, he was the original host of the daytime version of Jeopardy! on NBC.
Alex Trebek – From 1984 to 2020, the late, great Alex hosted the modern iteration of Jeopardy! for 36 years until his death from pancreatic cancer.
Guest Hosts – 2020 to 2021, Jeopardy! tested a series of guest hosts for one- or two-week stints, including Anderson Cooper, LaVar Burton and Aaron Rodgers.
Mike Richards – 2021, he was named host for a week before resigning amid controversy. He was the show’s executive producer at the time.
Mayim Bialik – 2021 to 2023, when Mike was announced as the show’s new host, Mayim was chosen to host tournaments and primetime specials.
Mayim and Ken Jennings – 2022 to 2023, 74-time champion Ken (the winningest contestant of all time) joined Mayim as guest host and they shared hosting duties.
Ken Jennings – 2023 to present. Last December, Mayim announced on Instagram that she would “no longer” host Jeopardy! after a long hiatus, having defended the writers’ strike, and Ken was named sole host.
Ken now runs all editions of Jeopardy! including Celebrity Jeopardy!, the late night show and other primetime specials such as Masters.
When one user said they missed part of Ken’s comment, another shared what he said.
“I loved that cheeky comment from Ken,” replied one fan.
“I loved it when – at the end of Isaac’s interview, when Ken mentioned that Isaac was ‘getting really close’ to the, as Isaac put it, ‘weird, raw sexual energy’ of Jeff Goldblum, whom he once impersonated, Isaac gave a quick suggestive look at the camera and raised his eyebrows slightly Ha ha, it was brilliant,” said another fan.
THE CURRENT CHAMPION
Isaac picked up his ninth victory on Monday night.
He played against Brenna Sniatecki of Rochester, New York, and James Hayakawa of Davis, California.

Isaac maintained his lead in Final Jeopardy! with $11,200, while Brenna had $10,000 and James had $4,000.
Isaac and James correctly answered “performative”, with Isaac adding $8,801 to earn $20,001, for a total of $215,390 in nine days.
