DANGER! champion Isaac Hirsch criticized the show after he shared a social media post that hit too close to home.

The game show’s account on X, formerly Twitter, posted a rumor about the longer initial runs players had just days after Isaac’s elimination.

“Fun fact: No one has EVER won exactly 10 games in their original run on Jeopardy! Isn’t that weird?” the show asked on the social media platform.

Isaac, who was eliminated one game shy of a 10-game winning streak, responded in the comments.

“Yes, very… strange,” he wrote.

His run as Jeopardy! The champion finished on July 16 after his ninth victory due to a mathematical error on his part.

Going into the game, fans felt Isaac was the clear choice to hit game 10, possibly even winning more games.

He amassed an impressive $215,390 as defending champion from July 3 until his defeat.

In the game, he faced Erika Stromerson and Jay Fisher, who has since been on a winning streak.

Isaac’s problems began early in the game when he came into last place after struggling with a $3,000 Fish Daily Double.

Jay came out ahead with $7,000, Erika had $600 and Isaac had just $400.

“I believe you are in third place for the first time in your race,” highlighted presenter Ken Jennings.

During Double Jeopardy!, Isaac’s problems continued when he encountered two consecutive Daily Doubles.

He lost the second Daily Double, worth $5,000, but got the next one right and made a cautious bet, just under the assigned amount.

He and Jay fought for a while and Isaac came in second going into Final Jeopardy with $15,300 and Jay with $16,200.

The category on Final Jeopardy was “People from the 1960s,” and the clue was: “He said the psychological tests he took in the California prison were ones he had planned, so he made himself appear docile and unlikely to escape ; so he did.”

Danger! Universe

Danger! it first aired in 1964 until 1975. Then, the nighttime version began in 1974. Since then, many spinoffs of the game show have emerged. Here they are all:

Pop Culture Jeopardy (streaming) – from 2024 to present, will feature teams of three in charge of pop culture trivia on Amazon Prime, host and air date to be determined

Danger! eliminated specialized tournaments, such as University Tournaments, Children’s Week and Teacher’s Tournament, to move towards a more sporting model, with the Masters being the top of the Jeopardy pyramid.

Other versions of Jeopardy! have also failed over the years, such as Sports Jeopardy!.

No one guessed Timothy Leary correctly and when the results were revealed, Isaac realized an even bigger mistake.

He accidentally bet $14,000, which reduced his total score to $1,300.

Jay bet $14,001, which made him the new champion with a one-day total of $1,799.

Isaac did a 360-degree turn on his podium, showing his pink betting slip to the camera.

He seemed shocked to realize that the amount would be too much to win if he guessed incorrectly, which he did.

‘BAD MATHEMATICS’

After the game, Jeopardy! fans flocked to Reddit to discuss the events of the episode, including the shocking loss of Isaac.

“Aw man I’m disappointed that Isaac lost, but at least he’ll be back on TOC,” one fan posted on the forum.

“A rough day for Isaac, but the fatal blow came when he made a fatal Final Jeopardy betting mistake,” wrote another fan.

“If Isaac had bet any amount less than $13,500. He would have won.”

Isaac himself weighed in on the Reddit thread, admitting his mistake.

“Okay, so why did I bet $14,000? The short answer is that I did the math wrong (although I think that’s kind of obvious based on how I spent the first minute after the game looking at my scratch sheet in horror),” he explained .

“I was trying to subtract 14,401 from 16,200 and somehow discovered 1,300 instead of 1,800 as the number I needed to get to if I got it wrong, hence the 14,000 bet.”

He went on to say that the on-air mistake was brutal for him, adding that it was all he could think about afterwards.

“I spent the weeks after recording watching bad math in my sleep. I remembered basically nothing about most of the games from last week, but EVERYTHING about this game,” he continued.

“All credit to Jay, who absolutely murdered me at the bell, especially in the first round. This was bound to happen – I barely survived yesterday and was very, very tired.

“It’s been a fun experience watching these broadcasts and I appreciate how nice people have been to me. I will have a lot to prove at ToC.”

Isaac concluded, “Not least, I can do basic arithmetic.”
