After each show, Jeopardy! fans started a discussion on Reddit.

They talk about the game, what went wrong, the most shocking moments, etc.

In a thread on the July 16 episode, Isaac explained why he bet $14,000.

Fans responded to his explanation and then Jay joined the conversation.

“I haven’t had a chance to watch the episode yet, but I was in shock when I won,” he said.

“I wonder if it shows. Isaac is a great competitor and wasn’t feeling well.”

“On any other day the results would have been different. I’ll be rooting for him at ToC. Congratulations on a great race and good luck in the ToC”, concluded Jay.

On July 18th, Jay is the current champion, with three victories under his belt.

He will return to compete tonight, July 19th, and will try to earn his fourth victory.

GAME OVER

Isaac lost on Tuesday after a nine-game winning streak.

He did a Final Jeopardy! math error and was left shaking his head as the credits rolled.

Isaac faced Erika Stromerson of Woodinville, Washington, and brief Senator Jay Fisher of Lisle, Illinois, and had a total of $215,390.

During that game, he fell to last place when he failed the first Daily Double.

Isaac found both Daily Doubles on Double Jeopardy!, answering the first incorrectly, but was wrong on his bet.

Danger! Host timeline

Danger! has had a tumultuous history regarding hosts following the death of the iconic Alex Trebek in 2020. Here are every host since the game show’s inception in 1964.

Art Fleming – from 1964 to 1975, he was the original host of the daytime version of Jeopardy! on NBC.

Alex Trebek – From 1984 to 2020, the late, great Alex hosted the modern iteration of Jeopardy! for 36 years until his death from pancreatic cancer.

Guest Hosts – 2020 to 2021, Jeopardy! tested a series of guest hosts for one- or two-week stints, including Anderson Cooper, LaVar Burton and Aaron Rodgers.

Mike Richards – 2021, he was named host for a week before resigning amid controversy. He was the show’s executive producer at the time.

Mayim Bialik – 2021 to 2023, when Mike was announced as the show’s new host, Mayim was chosen to host tournaments and primetime specials.

Mayim and Ken Jennings – 2022 to 2023, 74-time champion Ken (the winningest contestant of all time) joined Mayim as guest host and they shared hosting duties.

Ken Jennings – 2023 to present. Last December, Mayim announced on Instagram that she would “no longer” host Jeopardy! after a long hiatus, having defended the writers’ strike, and Ken was named sole host.

Ken now runs all editions of Jeopardy! including Celebrity Jeopardy!, the late night show and other primetime specials such as Masters.

Both he and Jay made Final Jeopardy! wrong question, but Isaac bet $14,000, reducing it to $1,300.

Jay bet about the same amount, dropping it to $1,799.

He won the game show and Isaac walked off the podium with his hands up, realizing his mistake.

‘DONE THE WRONG MATHEMATICS’

In the same thread as Jay, Isaac explained why he bet $14,000.

“Okay, so why did I bet $14,000?” Isaac wrote.

“The short answer is that I did the math wrong. (Although I think it’s kind of obvious based on how I spent the first minute after the game looking at my scratch paper in horror).”

“I was trying to subtract 14,401 from 16,200 and somehow discovered 1,300 instead of 1,800 as the number I needed to get to if I got it wrong, hence the 14,000 bet,” he continued.

“I spent the weeks after taping watching bad math in my sleep. I remembered basically nothing about most of the games from last week, but EVERYTHING about this game. All credit to Jay, who totally murdered me at the buzzer, especially in the first round.”

“This was bound to happen – I barely survived yesterday and was very, very tired. It’s been a fun experience watching these shows and I appreciate how nice people have been to me. I’ll have a lot to prove in ToC; not least, I can do arithmetic basic”, concluded the player.
