JEOPARDY champion Jay Fisher revealed the factor that caused him to lose his streak on the game show.
During a recent game, three-day champion Jay faced Dave Gutierrez and Neilesh Vinjamuri.
Since his debut on Wednesday, Jay has earned $28,200.
However, his opponents gave him a run for his money during Friday’s Jeopardy game.
At the end of the first round, Dave was in the lead with $3,400, Jay in second place with $2,600 and Neilesh in last place with -$800.
During Double Jeopardy, Jay got the first Daily Double, bet $2,000, and lost.
Just before the Final Jeopardy question, Neilesh dominated the second round and finished with $13,000, Dave with $5,400, and Jay with $5,000.
Jay was the only contestant to get it right on Final Jeopardy.
He finished the game with $5,401.
Dave lost $5,000 and was left with $400.
Neilesh lost just $1,000 and won with a score of $12,000.
‘WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE’
In a thread on a Reddit forum dedicated to Jeopardy, Jay spoke to fans about his experience on the game show.
One fan wrote, “I’m glad you won at least three games, Jay! I can only imagine what a turbulent experience that might have been for you. May the postseason treat you well!”
In response, Jay said, “Thanks. I’m not looking forward to watching this game! The week before was stressful at work so I was getting little sleep and with this taping I was tired.
“I knew [Daily Double 3] but it didn’t take a second to discover that they wanted the port and not the fort. Congratulations to Neilesh, he crushed the double jeopardy. May he have a long run.
“I have no regrets and I’m very proud of how I played and how I did.
