DANGER! There are often in-game clues that reference major pop culture phenomena.
Danger! contestants shocked fans on Tuesday night after failing to solve a clue that many considered easy.
Defending champion Alison Betts faced Veronica Tabor and Eric Reimund in yesterday’s episode.
At the start of the game, Alison was on a roll, gaining clues left and right.
Five minutes into the first round of Jeopardy!, she had $2,200, while Eric had just $200 and Veronica had -$400.
Alison was briefly stumped, however, when she chose an $800 clue from Jeopardy! category, Movies.
Game show host Ken Jennings, 49, as he always does, read the clue.
“The first DVD Netflix sent was this animated film starring Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis as a deceased couple,” said Ken.
Surprisingly, none of the contestants on Tuesday’s show were able to guess the correct answer.
Instead of starting to solve, they remained silent and ran out the timer.
‘JAIL FOR DANGER! COMPETITORS
“Oh no, that’s Beetlejuice,” said a perplexed Ken, stating the right answer to the seemingly uncomplicated clue.
On X, aka Twitter, Jeopardy! fans raged at the contestants for not being able to answer the aforementioned clue.
“The irrational anger I feel that no one knew it was Beetlejuice,” admitted one X user.
“#Jeopardy What??? Nobody knew Beetlejuice,” asked a second fan.
“Prison for all Jeopardy contestants tonight after they didn’t even care about Beetlejuice,” demanded another.
Alison still finished strong despite drawing a blank early in the game on the Beetlejuice track.
Danger! guest hosts

Since Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek died in November 2020, the beloved game show has continued with several guest hosts in 2021 to the present day:
REIGNING CHAMPION
Going into Final Jeopardy! Alison had $11,200; Meanwhile, Eric had $11,600.
Although Veronica wasn’t as negative as she was at the beginning of the game, she still had a very low score, entering Final Jeopardy! at $0.
Due to the score, Verônica was unable to participate in the last round of the game.
Players who have $0 or less at the end of Double Jeopardy! are not allowed to compete on Final Jeopardy, according to the game show’s rules.
This left Alison and Eric fighting for the title of champion.
While both contestants responded to Final Jeopardy! wrong track and lost money, Alison still managed to secure another victory.
Alison only won a thousand dollars, even though she lost Final Jeopardy! track, she still finished with $10,200.
On the other hand, Eric spent almost all of his winnings, so when he lost Final Jeopardy! question, he finished with just $1, immediately placing him in second place.
Alison’s latest win is her fourth this week.
