DANGER! has released audio of the shocking moment Isaac Hirsch realized his nine-fight winning streak was over.
The former champion, who is now moving on to the Tournament of Champions, lost on an episode of the game show on July 16th due to a mathematical error on his part.

Isaac appeared on Inside Jeopardy! podcast, which began in 2022 and is presented by the show’s producers.
During the episode, Isaac spoke about his devastating loss after audio of the moment played.
As noted during the podcast, the audio was taken directly from the show and viewers saw the moment but couldn’t hear it because the music was playing at the time.
Host Ken Jennings could be heard speaking to Isaac in the final moments of the episode.
“Isaac, you’re looking at your math right now,” he pointed out.
“I did wrong,” Isaac replied, looking quite sad.
“I did my math incorrectly.”
Ken, 50, responded: “So you were aware of the situation where everyone gets it wrong and were trying to bet on winning in that situation?”

“That’s correct, yes. Ouch,” Isaac said back.
He then downplayed the situation, joking, “I mean, that was certainly one of the worst ways to lose, but also one of the best ways for me, because I’m bad at math, so it suits who I am really well. “
Ken tried to console him a little, assuring him, “If it’s any consolation, it’s happened here many times before.”

He amassed an impressive $215,390 as defending champion from July 3rd until his shocking defeat.
During the last Jeopardy! episode, he fought throughout the game.

Isaac fought with a $3,000 Fish Daily Double, while Jay advanced with $7,000 and Erika came in second with $600.
At the time, Isaac only had $400.
During Double Jeopardy, he discovered two consecutive Daily Doubles, losing one for $5,000 and winning another, but placing a cautious bet below the allotted amount.
For a while, Isaac and Jay were side by side, with Jay first and Isaac second.
Going into Final Jeopardy, Isaac had $15,300, while Jay had $16,200.
The Ultimate Risk category was “People from the 1960s,” and the clue Ken read was this: “He said the psychological tests he took in the California prison were ones he had planned, so he made himself appear docile and unlikely to escape; so he did. “
None of the three contestants were able to guess Timothy Leary correctly, and as the results were revealed, Isaac realized an even bigger problem.
He accidentally bet $14,000, which reduced his total score to $1,300.
Jay bet $14,001, leaving him as the new champion with a total of $1,799.
Isaac stood stunned on the podium for a moment before doing a 360, holding his pink betting note up to the camera.
He seemed surprised to realize that the amount he bet was too much to win if he guessed incorrectly, which he did.
BIG MATH ERROR
After the game, Jeopardy! fans took to Reddit to chat about the events of the episode, including Isaac’s stunning loss.
“Aw man I’m disappointed Isaac lost but at least he’ll be back on TOC,” one fan posted on the platform.
“A rough day for Isaac, but the fatal blow came when he made a fatal Final Jeopardy betting mistake,” wrote another.
“If Isaac had bet any amount less than $13,500. He would have won”, pointed out another person.
Isaac himself appeared on the Reddit thread, sharing his reaction to the unexpected moment.
“Okay, so why did I bet $14,000? The short answer is that I did the math wrong (although I think that’s kind of obvious based on how I spent the first minute after the game looking at my scratch sheet in horror),” he explained .
“I was trying to subtract $14,001 from 16,200 and somehow got 1,300 instead of 1,800 as the number I needed to come up with if I got it wrong, hence the 14,000 bet.”
He added that the on-air mistake was brutal for him, telling Jeopardy! fans that was all he could think about for some time afterwards.
“I spent the weeks after recording watching bad math in my sleep. I remembered basically nothing about most of the games from last week, but EVERYTHING about this game,” Isaac added.
“All credit to Jay, who totally murdered me at the bell, especially in the first round. That was bound to happen – I barely survived yesterday and was very, very tired.”
