DANGER! Fans are up in arms as the iconic game show’s only online streaming platform abruptly shut down its service on Wednesday.

Pluto TV was the only way for fans to watch the show, which is notoriously unavailable, other than it being broadcast on cable.

Pluto TV is Paramount’s free live TV and video-on-demand service with over 300 live channels.

As of 2022, one of these channels is dedicated to Jeopardy!, airing Alex Trebek-era reruns 24/7.

At least it was like that until Wednesday.

Suddenly, the channel dedicated to Jeopardy! (and for the Wheel of Fortune) stopped working.

The site posted on the live stream, now a black screen, “Jeopardy! Hosted by Alex Trebek is no longer available on Pluto TV.”

The timing was particularly sad because the game show is now on its annual summer break, and fans were eager to watch Jeopardy! online.

The live stream aired OG episodes that couldn’t be found anywhere else, including Ken Jennings’ original series.

‘MOMENT OF SILENCE’

Fans took to Reddit in disarray over what appeared to be the sudden cancellation of the beloved Jeopardy! service.

“Both Jeopardy and Wheel Of Fortune channels are down,” one Redditor started a thread following the discovery.

“I’m not sure if this is just temporary or if it’s completely off the air, but both Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune just shut down Pluto TV without any warning.”

“The Jeopardy channel was only up a few hours ago. Is anyone else having problems?”

Other fans confirmed that the platform was no longer showing Jeopardy! for them and lamented what seemed to be the end of the agreement.

One noted: “The original deal for both channels, starting in 2022, was only for two years, so I guess it’s expired; There’s a chance it could move to another streaming service, but I hope it stays on Pluto. much more convenient.”

Another wrote: “I hope it stays on PlutoTV too. I love watching these reruns for free anytime, on demand and on your own channel.”

“A moment of silence please,” wrote a fourth.

“Yes, they no longer seem to be available to me. It would have been nice to let us know when the deal expired,” wrote a fifth.

“I hope this is just temporary,” wrote a sixth. “I’ll be completely upset without Jeopardy.”

“Please don’t – not when season 40 ends either. Please don’t let this happen!” wrote one more.

US Sun has reached out to Pluto TV for comment and to clarify whether its relationship with Jeopardy! and the Wheel of Fortune is completely over.

That said, a small batch of episodes are still available as an on-demand option on the site.

ALREADY IN TIME

Later on Wednesday, Colin Jost was announced as the host of the game show’s new spinoff, Pop Culture Jeopardy!.

The Saturday Night Live star will host the first version of the iconic quiz show exclusively on streaming rather than cable.

The series has been in the works for some time. It was announced in May and will begin production in August.

Jost, currently in Tahiti covering the Olympics for NBC, will direct the tournament-style series, which is separate from the syndicated nightly Jeopardy!

Ken Jennings is the sole host of the main franchise following the firing of Mayim Bialik last December.

He simply said of the news, “What it is: I’m excited.”

Fans were divided and many were disappointed that the game show didn’t cast someone more diverse.

“My thoughts: okay, sure, whatever. Bowen Yang wasn’t available?” a user X wrote.

A third person wrote on Reddit: “Might as well take a loaf of Wonder Bread and put it behind a podium.”

“Ugh, not a fan. I hope he at least stays out of the way of the game,” wrote a fourth.

The spinoff does not yet have a release date, but is expected to premiere in early fall.

Other fans speculated that Sony could pounce for another Jeopardy! programming will also be on Amazon Prime.
