This year’s theme was The Garden of Time, which was inspired by the exhibition’s theme, Reawakening Fashion.
The top featured a heavily cinched metal corset at the waist with several metal flowers decorated on the front.

Kim’s skirt was made of several chained metal flowers that covered her bare legs.
The Skims founder held a small gray cardigan over her shoulders as she posed for photos.
Her bleach blonde hair was lightly combed and she wore a full face of makeup.
Kim attended the event with her sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner and her mother, Kris Jenner, who attended with her boyfriend, Corey Gamble.

After leaving, she clung to a white sheet as her assistants walked her to a waiting car.
Fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to say that Kim was perpetuating an unrealistic body standard.
“How can she breathe? She and her entire family are obsessed with perpetuating unrealistic beauty expectations. They are not fashion icons or empowerers,” one fan wrote in response to a video of Kim arriving at the event.
“WHERE IS MISS KIM K WAIST?!? #MetGala,” added another.
“She looks like she’s trying not to pass out,” replied a third with a stressed face emoji.
“I can’t wait for someone to interview Kim so I can watch her try to get enough air into her diaphragm to say one line #MetGala,” noted a fourth.
SISTER’S DISAPPOINTMENT
This wasn’t the first time fans criticized the Kardashians for their Met Gala looks, with fans on social media claiming Kendall and Kylie’s looks were boring.
Kendall appeared in a long black dress cut in half at the waist, exposing some of her back and butt.
It featured lace detailing at the waist, which accentuated her hourglass figure.
The blouse went down to her chest, exposing her cleavage.
The Givenchy Haute Couture dress came from the autumn-winter 1999 collection.
Met Gala 2024 Theme
The Met Gala 2024 theme is The Garden of Time, which takes inspiration from the Costume Institute’s latest exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, titled Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.
The designer revealed that the dress had never been worn before and Kendall was the first person to debut the look in public.
The dress required 500 hours to hand embroider the more than 100,000 beads and sequins.
“Boring and disappointing,” one person tweeted, while another agreed: “Basic and boring. Don’t worry about showing up next time.”
“That dress looks so cheap,” lamented another. “She can’t pay anything?”
“Beautiful outfit, but I expected more from her,” said one person.
COME ON, KYLIE
Kylie didn’t escape criticism either, with several followers criticizing her look for being supposedly basic.
She appeared in an ivory Oscar de la Renta gown with a cone-shaped chest covering and a flowing train behind her.
“Goddess of disappointment?” one person tweeted.
“This train is in a bad position,” added another.
“I expected more,” noted a third.
