During the episodeKhloe, 39, revealed to the podcast host and her obstetrician, Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi, and her co-host, Mary Alice Haney, that she didn’t name her son, now 2, until eight months after his arrival.

“So Tatum is a little different story. I like unique names, but not eccentric names,” said the Hulu star.

“I think our family has enough eccentric names. I didn’t want to be too crazy.

“I didn’t actually name Tatum legally, I think, for maybe eight months,” Khloe confessed.

She then explained why she struggled for so long to decide on the little one’s nickname.

“I tried different names at first, but none of them suited me. And then Tatum was, but we always called him baby, or I called him daddy all the time.”

The Good American founder continued, “So Papa was a lot that I would use, but it was hard for me to name him because it’s interesting because I wasn’t carrying him, I didn’t really feel anything.”

Khloe further shared how she felt different after Tatum’s birth compared to when she welcomed her oldest child, six-year-old True.

“With True, I could feel things about her, or when I prayed at night, I prayed and we talked, and I don’t know, I just felt True’s spirit. It’s weird and eccentric.”

Khloe previously reflected on how disconnected she felt from Tatum when he was born on an episode of her family’s reality show, The Kardashians.

But these days, Khloe feels a much closer bond with her son, saying on the podcast, “I’m obsessed with Tatum now, of course.”

She also noted that her experience was different from that of her sister, Kim Kardashian, 43, who has gone down the surrogacy route twice before, and urged others not to “compare yourself to someone else’s journey.”

“I think it’s an incredible blessing that we have this option, and I’m so grateful for the women who are giving up their bodies to carry someone else’s baby and then return it to the mother. thing. But have grace. Be patient,” the TV star added.

Additionally, on the podcast, Khloe shared how her mental health took a significant hit upon welcoming a second child.

What happened between Khloe and Tristan?

Khloe and Tristan first got together in 2016 after attending a party together in Miami.

In 2018, they welcomed their first child, True.

Tristan was caught cheating on Khloe multiple times during her pregnancy.

They split after it was revealed he kissed Kylie Jenner’s best friend Jordyn Woods at a party.

The pair reconciled in 2020 and broke up in 2021.

Six months after the breakup, it was discovered that Tristan fathered a child with Maralee Nichols while he and Khloe were together.

A few months later, in July 2022, Khloe revealed that the pair were expecting their second child, son Tatum, via surrogate.

The two are currently co-parents and maintain that there is no romantic connection between them.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum admitted for the first time that she “cried hysterically” after learning her surrogate went into labor early and she wouldn’t be able to spend her last girls’ weekend with True.

She then explained why the waterworks actually came into being.

“It wasn’t even about the weekend, it was about now that this is real,” Khloe said.

However, her doctor assured her that the baby should be born quickly because the surrogate had “no fluid in her sac.”

CARING FOR THE TATUM

Concerned about Khloe’s reaction, her doctor even offered to take care of the baby until the Revenge Body alum was ready to take over.

“She [Dr. Aliabadi] says, ‘You know what? I will deliver the baby. I’ll take the baby and you let me know when you’re ready to pick him up. And I thought, ‘What?’ I’m like, ‘Who does this? Who offers this? And she did. And I remember thinking to myself, ‘Khloé, snap out of it, dammit. This is life. We have to do this,’” the TV personality recalled.

Adding another child to the family wasn’t the only thing Khloe was facing at the time.

The model was also dealing with the fallout from her father Tristan Thompson’s love scandal.

Shortly before Tatum’s birth, news broke that Tristan, 33, cheated on Khloe and had a child, son Theo, now two, with fitness trainer Maralee Nichols, 33.

“It devastated me because that was when all the judgments and knives were thrown at me,” Khloe said of the media scrutiny.

Since then, Khloe and Tristan have been on better terms as they co-parent their two children.

Their relationship has been so good that Khloe is considering having a third child with the NBA star.
