Kim Kardashian slams her ‘harmful’ comments about therapy as critics rage ‘such a terrible message for viewers’

KIM Kardashian left fans angry after she said she doesn’t use a therapist while chatting with her friends.

The 43-year-old reality TV star made controversial comments on the latest episode of her show, The Kardashians.

Kim celebrated her friendship group while celebrating her 43rd birthday, which was documented on her Hulu show.

In a confessional, she divulged that she feels very grateful to be surrounded by them.

“This week in particular has been complete chaos, but honestly, I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for my friends,” she said.

“Like I have the best friends and they are very supportive. I think that’s probably why I’ve never seen a therapist, it’s because I have the best friends in the whole world and they mean everything to me.”

“It makes me feel so good that everyone wanted to come out and celebrate and have dinner with us,” she continued.

“So tonight, I just want to celebrate with my girls, and I think we all need that sometimes.”

Kim introduced her friends to the scene cutting to show them all dressed up for Kim’s birthday.

“My circle of friends, I always say I hit the jackpot in the friends department. Spending my 43rd birthday with all the girls who inspire and motivate me is really special.”

Kim listed off her friends, which included Allison Statter, Simone Harouche, Sarah Meyer Michaelson, Lindsay May, Zoe Winkler Reinis, and Ashley Kassan.

Despite Kim’s good intentions, fans thought her comments about not going to therapy were a little biting.

Several followers took to social media to express their disappointment.

“Your friends are not therapists,” wrote one user on X, formerly Twitter.

“This idea that supportive friends are a substitute for therapy should end. This is a harmful narrative and not reality,” added another.

“Your friends shouldn’t be your therapists and vice versa. What she is saying is very harmful”, they concluded.

“Girl, call that therapist,” said a third.

“This is such a weird and harmful approach,” noted a fourth.

SERIOUSLY, KIM?

This wasn’t the first time Kim had been criticized online for one of her comments, with several people accusing her of being tiresome after she said she would be robbed in Beverley Hills.

Kim joined veteran actress Chloë Sevigny for an interview for the latest cover story in Variety’s Actors on Actors series.

The two women discussed their acting roles.

Kim is set to appear in an untitled legal drama from American Horror Story’s Ryan Murphy (Chloë was in Season 2 of the anthology series).

During the reunion, Kim mentioned watching the movie Troop Beverly Hills with her mother Kris Jenner for the first time.

“Yesterday I was absolutely stunned, I stopped in my tracks, I couldn’t believe it, emergency family reunion at the movie theater – my mom had never seen Troop Beverly Hills,” Kim said.

“It was such a different time. So, I love nostalgic films,” concluded Kim.

CRITICISM CORNER

Chloë – who rose to fame in the 90s New York indie film Kids – can be seen awkwardly forcing a laugh.

Critics took to social media where they discussed Kim’s response.

“Tasteless to the core,” responded one fan in the Variety clip.

“Rich girl problems,” wrote another.

“Actors about actors, you say?” joked a third.

“Yes this is the worst thing about Beverly Hills for sure…” wrote a fourth.
