IN SEPTEMBER 2023, Kourtney Kardashian underwent emergency fetal surgery that saved her son, Rocky’s life.
Months after his birth, Kourtney detailed Rocky’s “rare” and “terrifying” condition that led to the operation.
Kourtney spoke candidly about the harrowing event on the June 20 episode of The Kardashians.
“We had a terrible scare,” Kourtney recalled in the episode.
“It’s very rare – the condition he had – but it’s also very rare and we’re lucky we got it.
“Thank you, God, for a successful surgery. I am honestly so grateful. I have no words.”
Kourtney went on to say that her condition began to worsen after the surgery; however, the Poosh founder changed her mindset during this difficult time.
“The fluid in his lungs really started coming back,” she recalled. “Then I watched a documentary called Heal, which talked about the power of positive thinking and how our thinking can really affect our health.
“I started talking to the baby every day – saying my prayers.
“Once I had this change in mindset, the fluid completely disappeared and we didn’t have any problems afterwards.”

IVF JOURNEY
Before becoming pregnant with Rocky, Kourtney and Travis underwent IVF as the couple dedicated themselves to starting their own family.
During season three of The Kardashians, Kourtney revealed that she and her rockstar husband were “officially done with IVF.”
“We would love a baby more than anything, but I truly believe in what God has in store for us.
“If it’s a baby, then I believe it will happen.”
Kourtney went on to say that she froze her eggs years before her relationship with Travis.
“Before Travis, when I was 38 or 39, everyone was pushing me to do it, and most of mine didn’t survive the thaw because eggs are a cell and none of them made it to the embryo,” she revealed.
She went on to educate Kardashian fans about the realities of IVF, saying that freezing eggs is “not guaranteed.”
