KNOWN for their picturesque backdrops and breathtaking scenery, Hallmark Channel’s made-for-TV movies and TV series are typically filmed in Vancouver, Canada.

Hallmark Channel’s Falling In Love In Niagara, however, was actually filmed on location in the stunning, surreal, and spectacular Niagara Falls, allowing its cast and crew to immerse themselves in the falls in all their majestic glory.

Where was Hallmark Channel’s Falling in Love in Niagara filmed?

Falling In Love In Niagara is about a young woman, Madeline, whose fiancé leaves her just before her wedding.

Devastated, Madeline decides to go to Niagara Falls, on what would have been the couple’s honeymoon trip, with her sister, Harley.

By enjoying the sights and attractions of Niagara Falls and the surrounding city, Madeline “reconnects with her adventurous side” and “learns to let go,” as summarized by Brand.

She also meets Mike, a tour guide who “convinces Maddie to embrace a touch of spontaneity so they can discover the hidden wonders of Niagara Falls together,” as reported by Parade spectacle.

What starts as an awkward encounter turns into a romantic connection, leaving Madeline wondering if her true love has been at Niagara Falls the whole time.

Meanwhile, Madeline’s sister Harley embarks on her own adventure, photographing a couple’s wedding weekend in Niagara Falls.

While most of Hallmark’s original movies and series are filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, this made-for-TV movie was actually filmed on location in Niagara Falls.

Niagara Falls consists of three waterfalls, Horseshoe Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and American Falls.

The Falls cross the border between Ontario, Canada, and New York, USA.

Both Ontario and New York have a city called Niagara Falls, adjacent to the Niagara River, sharing the waterfalls between them.

The cast and crew had fun on set and took some time to visit Niagara Falls.

Monica Rodriguez Knox posted that she had a lot of fun enjoying the “beautiful scenic views of Niagara” on her Instagram page.

The film’s makeup department head, Alyssa “Aly” Morden-Hayley, also posted some scenic photos on her social media page.

“this is the end of Niagara”, she captioned the postalongside a movie clapperboard and water wave emojis.

Dan Jeannotte, one of the film’s main cast members, recalls that “it was amazing being in Niagara and being able to do all this fun, like daring adventure games, was great,” as reported by Niagara Frontier Publications.

“I mean, there’s so much natural beauty in that area,” he said.

“Obviously, the highlight is the falls; but you have the beautiful vineyards – the wineries nearby – which are another kind of beauty and another kind of cultural reference.”

Who is in the cast?

Falling In Love In Niagara features two main characters acting alongside a larger cast.

The TV movie is directed by Marita Grabiak, who is no stranger to Hallmark productions.

He directed the films Laughing All The Way (2023), A Royal Christmas Crush (2023) and Yellowstone Romance (2022), among others.

Falling In Love In Niagara stars actress Jocelyn Hudon and Dan Jeannotte, actor, improviser and voice actor, as Madeline and Mike.

Hudon is perhaps best known for her recurring TV roles on The Strain (2017), Thunder (2017), Ice (2018), When Calls the Heart (2018–2019), and When Hope Calls (2019).

She has also appeared in episodes of Criminal Minds, Dave, 9-1-1, The Rookie: Feds and Chicago Fire.

Jeannotte is best known for his interpretations of:

  • James Stuart in the TV series Reign
  • Brandon Russell in the TV series Good Witch
  • Ryan Decker in the TV series The Bold Type

He has also appeared in Fargo, Designated Survivor, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, as well as providing his voice acting work for the Assassin’s Creed video game series.

The cast of Falling In Love In Niagara also includes:

  • Masa Lizdek as Harley
  • Bert Cardozo as Keegan
  • Tomas Chovanec as concierge
  • Sukhman Gill as Alberto
  • Duane Keogh as Phil
  • Monica Rodriguez Knox as Beth
  • Jinesea Bianca Lewis as Emily
  • Kelly McNamee as the waiter
  • Chris Violette as Jason
  • Gregory Wilson as the officiant

Falling In Love In Niagara was written by Carley Smale, who has also turned several scripts into full-length Hallmark productions.

His previous writing credits include Midnight at the Magnolia, A Gingerbread Christmas, Christmas by Design, and Yes Chef! Christmas.

After her fiancé leaves her before her wedding day, Madeline goes to Niagara Falls on what would have been her honeymoon trip and meets a tour guide, Mike, who helps her regain her adventurous spirit.
